Highest Paid NFL Coaches

That Raiders team isn’t crap anymore. They’re just young. Their rookie class is producing, though. They’re still a ways off from competing for the AFC, but they’ll be a pain in the ass for the Queefs in short order.
Those doing victory laps for the Khali Mack and Cooper trades look dumb now

That's interesting. Of course, it begs the question, should TB12 be the highest paid QB in the league?
No, because there’s a salary cap for players, not for coaches.

Did you watch the Baltimore, Bill's, or even Browns games? When we played moderately competent defenses? It was rough. My point isn't that it's TB12's fault, but that his current physical ability requires a very good O-line, receivers who will beat press AND always be in the exact spot he wants them, as well ad a functional running game. We don't currently have any of those things and it shows with him throwing the ball away at a record clip. Let's not anoint this team at 8-1 when they didn't play anyone for 5 of those games. Defense is very good...offense is below par. Is it enough? It might be. Is Tom today a top 5 QB talent? I don't believe he is.
It's rough because of the O-line, not TB12...

Being paid the most and asking to be paid the most are two different things. I doubt that's the way that Belichick would do things.
I don’t doubt that Belichick has negotiated to be paid the most at the time, each time his contract expires (which is not the same as having an escalator clause). He deserves it, he knows he deserves it, and he’s a great deal for the team even being the highest paid coach. He’s a proud man (just because he doesn’t go around tooting his own horn in the media doesn’t mean he’s not proud) and I’m sure he wants to be paid commensurate with the value he delivers.

And as there’s no salary cap for coaches, him being top paid doesn’t hurt the team and isn’t hypocritical, either.

Lol @ this fantasyland notion that Bill wouldn't want to be the highest paid coach just because. It just seems odd to me that every time one of these highest paid coaches lists comes out Bill is always at the top. To me that means the author of the list is either guessing or Bill's agent unofficially lets the author know that Bill is making more than the guy in the number 2 spot.

Baltimore was not pressing. They were giving 7 yard cushions.

Even if the salary is $12.5M/year that's what the Browns were willing to pay Jaime Collins in 2017.

Barnwell: NFL's highest-paid players at every position -- and who's up next

Glad to say we're getting great value for money from both Collins and BB! :D

I think Belichick is like 2010 LeBron, basically worth 3X whatever he's being paid. Belichick at 30M/Year, would still take him without hesitation. 12 wins a year and 9 superbowl appearances, the franchise has increased in value by like 3 Billion. He's the rock behind the last 20 years of success both in making tough choices every year, elite development of players, and game planning. Patriots also save net money because they aren't separately paying for an expensive other General Manager.

They likely also pay less in other payroll for athletes and assistant coaches to work with the GOAT coach (of all N. American sports)...

Not sure if it's accurate but in terms of rankings, it seems OK to me as they've all done a decent job.

For Chucky to have that crap Raiduhs team 5-4 is good coaching.

Always wonder who leaks BBs salary. His agent I'm sure...

Highest Paid Coaches in the NFL
I never got the people who trashed gruden. He’s been a pretty good coach throughout his career.

Me neither. Gruden is a very good coach.

If BB stepped down I'd have no issue with Chucky taking over.

There are 16 NFL coaches making, as much as I figure, between 3.5 and 4 million per year. They are the lower tier. The top 16 make between 12.5 and 4. The average is around 5.5 or a little more.

So BB has always gotten to be the highest paid coach in the NFL but he never let Brady be the highest paid QB? Brady had to take a hometown discount to field a competitive team year in and year out.

I've posted this before but I actually did some 1/2 ass financial analysis on BB's impact on the valuation of the NEP. I think I did it after the 2015 season.

I figured (via wins, playoff wins and SBs compared to other 31 teams) $800m in the NEP valuation was attributed to BB.

I.E: Hes a bargain at $12.5m

Coaches aren’t part of the cap

On a related note, the highest paid cheerleader is Mike Tomlin.

Chuck Pag's .552

Chucky .528

Bad GM too.
Me neither. Gruden is a very good coach.

Big disagree here. After almost 15 years he's yet to build & win.

If Chicago had Andy Dalton they'd be contending for their Div & WC. Their D has been better, is good & held back by one of the worst O in football.

Conversely Oakland isn't winning bc of their D. If anything Gruden deserves credit for revitalizing Carr's career.

Their D is still one of the worst in football & their top 5 pick has comparable stats to Wino (3rd Rd)

They also picked a hell of a RB ... That will be useless(gone) after his 1st contract. Not terrible but again RB Rd 1. Again hes been awesome & will be there for oroy.

JA has been hurt.

Also anyone claiming Oak won anything has a funny definition of winning. They f'd up the Mack situation/contract from day 1. They messed that up, not as bad as Houston(Clowney) but thats on them.

They got a nice haul but are nowhere closer than if they had him ... Still looking up at KC.

I will say K Miller has come along a lot quicker then I anticipated. I graded him as a future starter in the 2nd but hes been vg all year. Whole OL. He turned out being a good pick so far.
