Who got took out for the season? We walked away without somebody like Brady, Edelman, Hightower, Gilmore, KVN, etc getting smoked for the year on a week 9 loss first loss of the year (8-1) sucks losing a shot at 16-0 but when we loss AB that's when it truly took a hit imo even tho hope was held out (Losing Andrews and Dev didn't help either) there always 2020 for a crack it again especially if we get AB again. For the anti 19-0ers some of us will never quit bit all in all I see 7 in Feb. Sanu is a hit we need Harry to click and we are money.

That’s it...I’m going back to the AB thread.

They lost. They didn't win. They didn't tie.

They lost.

Assuming the Patriots are AFC champs again I absofreakinglutely want them to face an 18-0 49ers in the Super Bowl.

That would be THE one and only chance to erase that other game that shall not be named.

Not to mention the hilarity of forcing Shula and Mercury Morris and the rest of them to tighten their sphincters and cheer for the Pats.

Wut he sed

Couldn't stop a simple RPO college offense and committing multiple turnovers doesn't feel like a win, at all.

This is an example of day drinking.

Please don't. Every day I hope it falls to Page 2 so I don't have to see it anymore, and every day some clown posts in it again.

We won by -17, it's true.

Well....we didn’t have any injuries, the Offense seemed to be clicking better than I’ve seen all year, I got over the loss in one night.... BUT- we definitely lost the game.

While OP obviously doesn't literally believe that we won the game, the sentiment is well taken.

I (and plenty of others) say every year that the only thing that can stop the Patriots from winning each year is injuries.

IMO, that was true in both 2015 and 2017; if we had retained our full roster in each of those seasons, we'd be looking at 5 straight titles.

That's obviously never going to happen, but in 2014 we were largely injury free (Mayo being the main loss) and 2016 we lost Gronk but IIRC most of the rest of the team was in great shape at the end.

This year we are right on the edge. Losing Gost and Andrews were both huge. Develin is a pretty big hit as well. Wynn has obviously been a big loss but hopefully he comes back and plays to his potential (I don't think we win a Super Bowl with Newhouse playing at his current level).

Fortunately the defense has made it thus far unscathed (knocks furiously on wood) and every week that we go without losing a contributor is a victory in the sense that OP was (obviously) getting at.

ETA: I only addressed the second 'sentence' of OP regarding injuries and upon rereading the rest of it, perhaps my post could stand on its own rather than trying to support the remainder.

Won? No. Could have been a bigger loss? Yes. But, still a loss. Every team loses, even the Patriots. It's even possible they'll lose another one, so prepare yourself. No need to start sounding like Colts fans and pretending it didn't happen.

We really won because it's possible that an asteroid could have hit the earth, wiping out all living things, and that didn't happen! So yay, we're all winners!

The sentiment was ludicrous.

Your post is, the point is even tho we lost we still won by not losing anybody important for the year as it has happened plenty of times before.

In a way, both of the teams were winners. But in another, more accurate way, the Ravens were the winner.

We had the game won until the Ravens scored more than 20 points. Then we lost the game.

That's the spirit!

This is what I say every week as a Jet fan.

We're all winners!
