Eagles game: Desean Jackson out

Gilmore or one of our speedier DBs probably could have handled him without too much trouble, but it's nice in that those assignments will now drop to other WRs.

If the Eagles want to win I think their offense will have to run through Zach Ertz and Miles Sanders so will be interesting to see how we handle them. Didn't really notice what Chung did against the Ravens (I think he was on the field for less than half the snaps) but could be a big one for him in two weeks.

I’m hoping we line him up exclusively at corner again and have him man up against Agholor.

But is Lamar Jackson playing?

It's on to the bye.....

I hope the Bye doesn't score against our Defense.....:D

Saw a stat a while back that showed no team has ever posted a regular season win vs. bye, so could be in for a tough matchup. Not sure about playoff records..

Colts are undefeated against the bye... time to hang a banner

What’s the Bye’s record at home as opposed to on the road?

The bye could certainly blow by (bye?) Newhouse.

Put Gilmore on Alshon one on one and double team Ertz.

They seem to be using Goedert a lot, they have two good TE's ! Ertz is the main guy but Goedert has also had a lot of looks this year !

PHI will run early and often. They have a good running game and that is our defensive weakness.

Of course, their CB's are the very worst among contending teams.

Pats will need to stop the run and their 2 excellent tight ends. They had a bit of trouble yesterday with that...

Pats won't have to defend against Lamar running as well as Eagle's RB's...should make the task a bit easier.......

My thoughts exactly. I have a lot of confidence in this secondary to defend most skill position groups, especially on 3rd and 7+. But if we're giving up 5-7 yards on first down, the number of options you can run with good TE's makes playing defense a guessing game. Not as bad versus the Eagles as it was against the Ravens (that offense is built around converting short yardage situations because they have every weapon under the sun to do it), but it's still tough. We lost to the Ravens by consistently losing on first down. We shore that up, I believe the secondary can stop anyone.

a shame we waited so long to slap him on Alshon in the sb :(

I'm trying to remember but I think there was another CB they could have thrown in there to see if things got better.

Is Butler playing?

Just kidding :D

I wasn't worried about DeSean Jackson.........the guy hasn't played since week 1 anyway, right?

DJax was not a factor except game 1. Eagles offense is based on Jeffery and Ertz and heavy running game. Unfortunately for us Sanders is getting better and better in passing game. Wentz is a very intelligent QB who can run efficiently. Stopping running game would be a key element.
The weakest Eagles' point is definitely their secondary. Sanu,Edelman and maybe Harry will have a show I hope.
