Brady not playing with any for is strange. Probably enraged that we cut AB...resign him ASAP.

The defense just got obliterated tonight. They faked us out by playing strong for a few consecutive drives before collapsing. Plenty of penalties hurt our cause on both sides of the ball.

Edelman’s fumble was the turning point. We were driving and seemingly about to take the lead.

The silver lining is that this loss can be a wake up call. It brings that defense back down to Earth and they certainly won’t be giving themselves nicknames for a while. They needed a reality check that, yes they are good and beat up on some pitiful offenses but they are not historically great. In a way I’m glad they’ve got humbled.

The other positive to make note of is that I saw progress in the passing game. Aside from that INT they moved the ball through the air and at times on the ground as well. Sanu is looking like a great pickup at the deadline. He was terrific tonight, though it will go largely unheralded in the loss. But we still have a Newhouse and TE problem that are killing us.

Two weeks to think over this one. The team has some brutal film sessions in store for them.

Finally, the Ravens are not a team I want to run into in the playoffs. Harbaugh has gone against us many times and had more success than any other coach and Jackson is such an untraditional QB that it can make your head spin. Hopefully some other team beats the snot out of them so we don’t have to play them again.

Nonsense. Harry is a wide receiver, not a tight end. Aside from that, he obviously isn't ready or he would've dressed.
You do understand that he's somewhat of a large receiver, and one or two sportswriters have suggested we might possibly use him to replace Gronk? I suppose you think he would have been worse than Watson, who was barely above worthless tonight?

We need to tighten up our run D badly.

Our offense was moving the ball but when you get the game close and then cough up the ball like Jules did it will suck the life out of you and that is what happened.

We will continue to have a pathetic run game until our O line gets better.

I wish we played mobile qbs as if they couldn't run sometimes. I'm convinced things would have gone better if we treated them no different than our past opponents.

I'm over it and I still don't fear the Ravens.

I also made a point yest I believe that the D could have a game like this & still be good. They are still very good. Balt was smart, disciplined & frankly arent afraid of us like some other teams fold.

True, even the 2000 Ravens gave up 36 to the Jaguars. More importantly, though, I think it could be long-term beneficial to this defense to be so thoroughly humiliated on national TV. They're not historically great, they're not boogeymen, and they sure as hell are not good enough to stop doing their jobs and expect anything good to happen.

Makes me wonder if Jackson will last the season the way he runs... The next toughest running qb is Watson... They'll adjust and if we meet again will have a better game plan

Trollin Volin talked about the spaces in the run D and he was laughed at last week.

Trollin had it right - even if he's an annoying troll.

This board:

First 8 weeks: “This defense is special!”

They have one bad game: “F**k them, they were never that good anyway!”

Positive:
- Sanu looks good, integrating well, making plays
- nothing else

Negatives:
- Newhouse
- Theres others, but.. f*** Newhouse
Think the offense as a whole looked good, minus Newhouse of course. Sub him out for Wynn, add Harry, you've got a nice offense IMO. Wish the TEs were better but I'm just missing Gronk still I guess.

Defense got knocked down a couple pegs (up front anyway), but I'm confident they'll rebound fine. They have the talent. They probably needed to be humbled a little.

O-line is atrocious.

Yeah, but that's majority on Newhouse being an absolute dumpster fire of a tackle, and the next time they take the field Wynn should be out there in his place.

That Ravens team isn't that good. They needed a massive assist to get by a Patriots team that looked in desperate need of the bye.

A gimmick QB like Jackson isn't going to get another W against a Belichick coached team, thats the Dolphins wildcat again.
Are we really going to sit here and say the Ravens aren’t that good? They just kicked our ass after a slew of people were stoned thinking we were going to rout them.

As complex as football is, the key to success is simple. Win in the trenches. We got bullied in the trenches on both sides of the ball.

Ravens played a great game tonight for the most part. Lost of power/pistol, motion bunches w the perhaps the most dangerous running QB ever. Lamar played a great game overall. He controlled & ran his offense to a T. Anyone not giving him credit by now has a clear agenda. Nothing wrong w admitting other teams/players are good. Also please go watch A22 of Lamar if you think he's not that hard to bring down or the Pats should just hit. So much easier then said. Lamar has been avoiding the big shot forever now. He's an impossible mesh cover for LBs & DBs in the open field are still outmatched in most cases.

Pats came out in tempo & looked like 2010-12 except targeting White/11 w Sanu mixed in. It absolutely did have an effect on Balt. Ultimately we shot ourselves in the foot w TO's & penalties & a few dumb mistakes. I said this eariler but Gronk is all the difference. Blocking, tough/easy rec's, RZ ... We need another WR to step up big time. Wynn is obviously huge too. It'll give us some flexibility back in terms of freeing up some guys that wont have help/chip & just give us a much better player.

I also made a point yest I believe that the D could have a game like this & still be good. They are still very good. Balt was smart, disciplined & frankly arent afraid of us like some other teams fold.

Speaking of fold I can't believe some thought this team would fold early on. We lost a game. NOT a big deal. It's how we respond in 2 weeks which matters. This team has 20 years of benefit > doubt & will make a serious run at the SB imo.

Please dont flood this board w trash from the usual suspects tomorrow. They've been wrong way more then right. They literally get together, pick sides, go over talking points, get stuff from info/funny stuff from producers & put on a SHOW. Dont be that guy.

Let's get healthy & enjoy 8-1. Still a top 3-5 team in the league.

Great post. People trashing Jackson because they are jealous we have Stidham, but he is an amazing dynamic player

Mike Pennel could fix the run D.

It's been a while since we lost a game. Kind of forgot what it feels like. We are obviously going to have to play better going forward. Would love to play the Ravens again!!!

Defense wasn't good tonight, Offense wasn't great, made some uncharacteristic mistakes/penalties as well.

Glad to see the bye and hoping Wynn comes back soon and we get healthier.

8-1 isn't too bad though.

Let's discuss!!!!
Offense was mediocre at best. Tom looking very un-goat-like

btw I also find it hilarious how people are suddenly calling this defense not great.

I'm mad that they keep focusing on the fact that Jackson was pulled into the endzone and how great that is, haha so funny! It wasn't the difference in the game but it's friggin' illegal. It's another one of those things where it would be a problem if NE did it but if it's another team it's just a cute little blip to run on ESPN reels and giggle over.

Yup. Thats a game changing call. People are way to easily overlooking that. That was a scoring play. All scoring plays are reviewed. They didn’t see him being pulled? The broadcast team was doing it for them.

That screams something. Fixing, influencing etc. Aren’t the Ravens something stupid and 1 at home for SNF?

That's how gimmick offenses work though, once you've seen them they don't work again and Jackson isn't a good enough QB to beat a team that's seen his gimmick live.
The wildcat! The reason we don't see more of this is because QBs aren't meant to get beat up by running
