Interesting Saturday at BWI For Brady and Wino

If I were at an airport at my gate and looked out the window and saw the Patriots plane, I think I would feel an unreasonable amount of joy.

Fly out of Pvd. and you can see it every day, even though they moved if from the middle of the airport to the southern end of the terminal.. if you want you can even greet the buses as they arrive, as the Pats announce when they are leaving.

That’s right. I fly out of there almost weekly and sometimes tell the people sitting around me on the plane “get ready, here it comes.” Seeing it never gets old.

I would audibly squee.

Other than Green Beans (nostalgia lol), there's generally nothing decent about BWI. Them being there probably temporarily raised the land value of the airport.

I’ve flown into PVD multiple times and never even thought to look out the window for the Pats plane. Will have to take a look tomorrow when I fly in.

I read the thread title and thought Brady had an encounter with a homeless person at BWI.

A lot of people fly in and out of bwi every day because it’s a southwest hub. The smart ones that fly in never leave the terminal....go 20 miles north to the inner city and it could really be terminal.

Actually BWI is by far my favorite DC area airport. DCA is a hassle and has such horrible approaches some pilots refuse to fly routes that go there. IAD is in the middle of nowhere with mediocre ground transportation options other than driving, and flight schedules that are even worse. BWI has a healthy SWA schedule, good ground transportation options, and a terminal that beats the pants off DCA or IAD. Plus it’s the only one I can fly myself into if necessary (I’ve used that a couple of times to make good connections).

You apparently don’t know Baltimore. Go to the Inner Harbor and it’s quite nice, major tourist attraction, and close to the stadiums as well.

I agree on the SWA point, but I've always had delays in BWI for whatever reason. I only use IAD really for international flights (since I do SWA for domestic) and it's one of the easier airports for that (even though Mobile Pass is somehow gone now?). I forget DCA exists half the time.

I live in Virginia now, so IAD is convenient for me.

Inner Harbor is decent, but all the Army kids I served with kept wanting to go to the northeast part of town. I'm too old for that kind of shenanigans. Maryland was...ehhhh. I've lived on both the Virginia and the Maryland side, and prefer the Virginia side, even if Maryland is closer to all my family in New England.

I was born there, and lived there until 4 years ago. The inner harbor is nice, a tourist attraction that the city and its police department protect, but go a few miles East, west or north and you are in risk of your life. Attached will show all the murders this year.
Baltimore City Homicides

I thought they were Boating While Intoxicated.

Yeah, the first thing I thought of when I saw BWI was British West Indies. Must be the diver in me. Virgin Gorda a very quiet gem.

OK patfanfodor...we get it. You're a well traveled gent.
