Patriots activate WR N'Keal Harry off IR

Only time will tell , if Harry catches all of the balls that Brady may throw at him does it put him in the same frame as Meyers?...myers has been pretty consistant with what has been thrown his way , yet he seems to only get scraps , why would Harry be any different unless he plays in a different position and gives a different option. I really hope he sets the game on fire as we need something to scare defences further downfield

If Harry can get separation....

Meyers isn’t really only getting scraps.

He has played 218 snaps and has 14 catches.
Dorsett 343 and 21
Gordon 320 and 20

all pretty similar.

Hate arguing about stuff where we have little to no data. Let's see Harry's 1st game first.

There was an entire thread about the guy.
That’s true, and you’ve posted repeatedly that you’re not here to argue with anyone.

That thread was comedy gold, don’t you think?

You said this

I know what I wrote. I didn't not say what you claimed I said. If I have to explain the difference, you'll complain that I'm talking down to you.

I think some are expecting too much from him ...
He's missed a lot of time and training and the rookie thing.

Which contained no posts from him, so really it's not fair to form an opinion just based on that thread. Of course if you have deeper knowledge on the subject than you are letting on that's different

I agree with the speculation that since he's raw we may use him like we used Patterson last year. At least at first.

Yes, Brady targets rookies in their first game. Note that theses games are in the patriots' second pre-season (four games). Tate started in Game 7; he got one target.

Rookies coming in for last half of the season are very different than a rookie playing in the first few games (like Meyers).

If he catches a couple of balls for a few yards and a TD it'll have exceeded my expectations for his rookie debut.

I'll be happy with 3 catches 30 yards...garbage time counts.

Do you think the plan all along might have been to replace Gordon before the trade deadline? I wonder if they didn’t want to get screwed over like last year considering his past history. I read all the recent articles about their concerns with his behavior, availability, and work ethic, and nothing stood out as particularly compelling to IR/release him. I’ve thought from the beginning of the year Harry is essentially redshirting 8 games, or at least that his injury was minor and it was more of a roster stashing move to IR him. Just a thought...Gordon’s drop off in production didn’t help.

Mitchell played over 80% of the snaps in his last 6 games of the season
48% isn’t really a fair number considering he missed 2 games and was a 5th round pick who played around 30-35% early in the year.

48% is perfectly fair, and if you can't see the significance of his snap count rising as he was getting to later weeks (Note that last 6 games + 2 missed games = AFTER 8 games played), and Gronk was out (DNP after game 11), let me know. And let me get it started for you.

Games played by Gronk:
3,4,5,6,7,8,9,11

Games played by Mitchell:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,10,11,12,13,14,15

Crossover games:
3,4,5,6,7,9,11

Mitchell's snap count % in the crossover games:
25.8
35.7
31.3
17.2
52.6
30.3
46.6

It was only after Gronk was lost for the season (game 11) that Mitchell's snap counts took the big jump into the 80's.

Game 12: 84.8
Game 13: 78.3
Game 14: 89.3
Game 15: 78.4

And the round drafted is meaningless, in context.

I certainly am not here to argue. Since I understand this board is fraught with argument. I went out of my way to point that out and have walked away from numerous potential arguments.

I think that Harry has a chance to play as much by December as Mitchell did.
I will leave it at that.
As I said at the beginning of this we will see.

You compared me to a poster there was a long thread about and I said from what I tesd I’m not at all similar. That’s as deep as it gets.

Not so much fraught per se.
Heck, there was even a brief hiatus of sorts

From 'what I tesd' the coincidences just seem uncanny. Of course appearances can be deceiving and often times the object in the mirror really is even closer than it seems

I don’t know. I made a comment and I feel like i am being cross examined.

I think our #1 draft pick if all goes well might end up getting the 2nd highest # of WR snaps by December because he adds a presence we don’t have and is different than the rest of the group.
If people want to tell me I’m wrong, that’s fine, I’ll move on and see what happens.
