Brady's new mansion..

Eco-wife would never allow public perception of daily helicopter flights to commute from CT.

relative to HVAC on 14,862 sq. ft. of living space, that would seem to be a minor add-on, eco-wise.

Just wondering if Shifty will bother tweeting about Brady’s new purchase in CT, otherwise known as New England. Let’s remember his mentor was Chris “I stick by my deflated balls report because I’m shocked I was lied to!” Mortensen.

This is really disappointing to me. I have always really respected Schefter. I would continue to respect him if the man simply updated his twitter (as he does all day) with an update to a “report” that became the hottest topic in sports for a week. But it doesn’t seem like he will do that. As of now, he still claims that his idea is based on “facts”.

1. Brady’s house is listed for sale, but that is beyond meaningless since he just bought a house in another New England state. The conclusion would be obvious they are moving between Boston and NYC, where they have business ventures.

2. Brady’s contract contains a void. This “is” a fact, but one that also applied to Drew Brees, of whom there was zero mention.

3. He slightly walked back his report with some story he claimed was a bombshell insider find that Brady values his relationship with Belichick and Kraft, aka values playing for the Patriots. NO SHT, ADAM! Then he cowardly concluded that the Patriots “have a chance to re-sign Brady” rather than taking the logical conclusion that they would be the clear favorites...and this is because...

4. The lack of other “facts” are the biggest problem. The implications of his report implied the relationships may be sour, or that there is some interest in another team, or some desire to leave the team, all of which increasingly look like an intentionally false implication and rather manipulative. He has yet to find a single reason why Brady wants out, but has now stated on record that Brady wants to stay with Kraft and Belichick if he can.

Let’s see if he goes full for Mort or just acknowledges the facts are now firmly against his previous opinion, which is looking more and more like a sensationalist, dishonest reporting that he isn’t known for. I’m a forgiving person. I would have forgiven Mort. Schefter should be better than this.

Adam who?

Ummm... He bought a house in Greenwich which is basically a wealthy suburb of NYC. It’s way too far to commute to Foxborough.

I was just thinking we needed more threads yelling at the media. We don't have enough of those threads these days.

Okay I stand corrected. But if his house sale was the reason for this entire report, Brady settling in the general region still pokes a huge in the report. It’s not like he bought a house in LA. I know it’s not like he could commute to Foxboro from there, but moving to within a few hours of there doesn’t exactly lead one to believe he’s looking to bolt. He sure as heck isn’t playing for a NYC team.

I think the simple fact that Brady (or any star athlete) could arrange for a nice living situation with absolutely no notice anywhere in the country means there's nothing to read into as far as his future plans. If he's going to play football next year he'll have a mansion/penthouse to live in somewhere. Maybe he won't own it, but he can find one.

That being said, the signs do seem to be pointing toward retirement.

No I don’t think he’s playing for a NY team either, but I think it’s reasonable to speculate this is where he plans to retire to. Giselle can be close to NYC’s fashion industry.

There is not and never has been any reason for Brady to want to leave.
At some point he will retire. Until he makes the decision the only place he wants to play is NE and the only QB BB wants is Brady.
Unless you believe the National enquirer et al headlines you see when checking out at the grocery store you understand this.

Doesn't seem like all that long ago Brady and Bündchen built a palace in Cali and were supposedly headed off to LA. Oh wait...that's because it wasn't all that long ago...never mind

He's opening a TB12 in Manhattan. His wife is a fashion model and NYC is arguably the center of the fashion world or at least in the US. He is still relatively close to Boston/Foxboro. I don’t think there is anything to freak out about, he is just preparing for life after football and probably keeping his wife happy in the process.

Mods, can you please merge to other thread. Missed it. Clear signal that it’s coffee time.

I agree with everything in the OP other than CT being part of New England.

Technically, true I guess. But reality? Most of CT is as much part of NYC as the swamp where the Giants play. I think the Jets rent space there too, but this isn't the thread to virtually teabag the Jets.

Happy for Tom and Giselle.

High on the list, if not #1 consideration, by parents seeking a new home: School system!
