Shaq Mason Restructure?

I think that we are trying to be clear. Any extension of Thuney would require significantly MORE cap space.

We all know that.

I think you just dont understand what the poster was writing.

He was saying extend Thuney and push his base salary for this year down.

There are none. Karras isn’t the problem either. Mason and the tackle play is where the inconsistency is.

On Ted Karras saw his number got beat few times last game don't remember a single game seeing David Andrews get beat that much.

I think you are missing what Thuney and Mason are doing. Karras is simply not a starting caliber Center in the NFL. Ok, maybe that is a bit harsh, he's not a top 20 starting caliber center in the NFL. Mason and Thuney are picking up Karras' slack. They didn't suddenly forget how to play Guard. I would even go as far as to say that Andrews was so good, and so underrated, that he made them look better than they are (and they are very good, which is why the Oline hasn't completely fallen apart with Karras and Newhouse). Andrews is our best Olineman, its not debatable - especially now.

Great points regarding Andrews...Karras's play have been duly noted. That said it was brought up by a poster about our success in finding UDFA one being Andrews also. IF Nick Caserio is the reason we find those guys it would be a sad day when he goes.

Whitney Mercilus beat him like a rented mule when they played the Texans a few years ago. There are other times he's been beaten even though I think he's a good player. Karras needs time just like the rest of the OL. Andrews never played anything but C his entire career and expecting Karras to be just as good after 7 games is unrealistic. Nevertheless, he's gotten better.

It was a joke/play on words

As to both Shaq and cannon, they both started season very badly on both pass protection and run blocking, I am going to assume due to injuries because little else makes sense

They have both improved their pass protection and it’s been more usual last few games compared to beginning of season

However their run blocking has not improved, so hopefully that’s next, I could se injuries impacting run blocking more than pass pro so it’s bit a surprise to me

I'm thinking the Patriots will use a high pick for RT next year, and later picks for guard and tackle depth.
