Gordon to IR

Yes but every "great" defense in the Super Bowl era has given up over 3o points once or twice.

Always need to win games any which way.
Even the Bears did - 35 to Marino. But NE can afford one or two - as long as not a playoff game. Not worried about running the table. Just get the #1 seed. Hard to beat a great D playing at home

Dorsett's problem to me is that he's got about 10 YAC all year. Dude's like Lafell used to be, it's like could you run with the ball for me one time?

The Patriots have been using Dorsett for outs, comebacks and deep passes to the endzone. Of his 18 catches, 10 have been for first downs, and a team leading 4 ended up as TDs. In fact, Edelman (2) is the only other player with more than one receiving TD.

So I'm not seeing a problem here.

Feels weird using him in madden

I can's see this stupid thread. One of "those" people started it

Yep. Thats why it can't be in the playoffs. Especially to the Queefs

Why take away one phrase out of a three paragraph post? I’m pretty sure he meant “home boys” as a clique reference and I agree with that. If you said Gordon was unproductive, you were met with a ton of disagrees and dislikes.

Its comical.

I stopped counting at 15 dislikes. QauntumVolvoMechanic and Tommy1234 are on a disagree Jihad. They must be roomies.

Thats all they have because they dont have what it takes to articulately debate that Gordon has been productive in the NE offense. They got zero.

He was not beating his CBs. Unless he heals up, I think average CBs could do a good job covering him. The offense tried so hard to design plays for him, at times employing illegal pick plays to get him open. Gorden is not a threat this year and BB has seen it on film. I suspect BB and McD have concluded that he was part of the offensive woes the team was experiencing.
What are the rules of this type of IR? Can the Pats resign him if he clears waivers if he is released with an injury settlement? I am assuming he completely heals up. Or are there rules against that?

Gotta cut him, man, no way around it. If you're one of those people playing with AB and Gordon on your roster just go ahead and unfriend me on facebook right now.

Not good. Was hoping he would be back soon !
Wanted to see him and Sanu play together.

@vuudu I know the team that put him on IR is prohibited from signing him for 8 weeks, even if he takes an injury settlement and becomes a free agent.

Pretty sure other teams can sign him as soon as he takes an injury settlement and is waived into free agency if he can pass their physical.

Don’t kill me for this but Dorsett feels like Amendola light to me. And not too light. And sans the pesky parking spot issues.

Seriously though, Dorsett is clutch, can stretch the field, and doesn’t have the dropsies. I have been defending him for about 14 months now.

He is also clearly injured and playing through a bunch of pain. Right now none of our receivers command double coverage. We've only had one completely healthy guy this season who needed to be double covered and we released him because the media was upset.

If you believe that then you clearly haven't been following the Patriots that long because Rape and Sexual Assault have ALWAYS been no goes for this organization since the Krafts purchased it.

I’m not seeing a problem with TDs and first downs either. My issue are those catches where he seems like he has to summon every fiber of his being to catch a ball and can’t seem to then stay upright and run. And there have been multiple catches that fit that description.

Look, I like the guy, he is who he is. But if people wonder why he doesn’t get the love, that’s where I’d start.

...and I've been throwing dirt on him for 14 months.:p

Stories so far say Pats are going to release Gordon once he is off IR. What would be the benefits of the release? Why release him and not just keep him on IR and wait for next year?

Dorsett’s issue is consistency, being productive every week. But Amendola had that as well. Some of it was game plan, but Dola tended to disappear for periods. Dorsett can stretch the field - and we lack that otherwise. I do think Sanu is going to thrive in this offense however and that him, Edelman, Dorsett and Meyers can win a SB, even if Harry does not show.

He is expanding his game. There just seem to be some games where he struggles or disappears.
This is going to be a versatile and deep receiver group by December.
Edelman
Sanu
Dorsett
Harry
Meyers

Trading DT now seems a bit premature. From what I saw on Monday, he was balling whenever Darnold did not throw the ball t0 a Pats player!
He still has sometimes left, we could have used him
