Gordon to IR

I can see it now, “Bill, what happened with Gordon ?” Bill- “I only talk about the players that are here.”

Well, at least Gordon got a ring, good for him.

Gordon is freely and voluntarily choosing to become a free agent and the Patriots are actively allowing him to do so.
I just saw ESPN claim that “Gordon’s run with the Pats is over,” but didn’t fully understand the statement. Is this why? Is what you’re saying true? Gordon will be playing with another team as soon as his injury is healed, and NE won’t be in play for retaining him via free agency in March?

Forgive me for just jumping into the thread. Thanks.

I hope they don't surprise all of us by re-signing Jordan Richards.
With the poundings in the books on way to a 7-0 record : I am hoping BB DOES bring Richards back to spice it up !

I know some of you hate this but just sign AB, damn bro. Kraft needs to let this isshh go.
Nah man. The most hated organization in the NFL, and arguably in pro-sports, can't possibly afford bad publicity. Don't you realize this? We can't upset the media.

Terrible. If that line had held up or Brady gets rid of the ball this doesnt happen. So frustrating. Now we know why a 2nd round pick.
****. Just read he is not hurt too bad and will sign with another team?! WTF

Dorsett is no slouch either - he's really coming into his own this year, best i've ever seen him
Dorsett's problem to me is that he's got about 10 YAC all year. Dude's like Lafell used to be, it's like could you run with the ball for me one time?

Normally I agree but this one stinks imo...something is up

The Patriots want to release Gordon with Harry and Sanu coming but couldn’t release an injured player. So they placed him on IR so they can reach a settlement where he is then released. That’s how I see it, anyway.

That was a helluva throw by Brady on that TD Monday night but also a big league catch.
for a minute I wanted to make sure we didn't sign OBJ seeing that catch lol

Yeah because the Patriot's have never hired and played bad people.
Name one that has spent an extended amount of time with the team.

It was reported that Gordon will be released from IR once healthy. For that to happen, both sides need to agree to an injury settlement. For Gordon, that means he doesn't have to wait until 2020 to play. For the Patriots, he's off the cap this year. And who knows, maybe they're doing him a good turn since they know playing football keeps him off drugs and don't wamt him just stewing on IR without football.

In theory the Patriots could actually bring him back after a certain amount of time (10 weeks pr something). They did that with Larry Centers back in the day, settlement off IR early in the season and brought back when eligible in December.

Cutting dead wood.

Bennett best get with the program.

Weird situation. You'd think they trade him if this is not IR serious.

Sucks for Gordon hope he catches on somewhere else if just for his own sanity's sake.

I guess the people who called him to IR were actually right after all even if in a weird way.

Sports radio wondering why JG was practicing today and he's to the IR for a bone bruise or something....implying something is being hidden

Whoever said that is AN UTTER F**KING MORON. Today was a walk through, so there was no practice and the media only sees like 20 minutes before they have to leave. So all they saw was Gordon present for the media portion, which for a walk through practice is basically guys just stretching.

Pats also designated him as DNP. So if the nfl wants to investigate Pats will hand them over the tapes of the walk-through in which Gordon will be seen off to the side or not even there.
