Pretty surprising looking back that bill somehow viewed more value in Lacosse/Izzo and we almost lost this guy for nothing.

Already looks like our best tight end. Take away the drop and he had a nice catch on 3rd down and 4th down and was solid in blocking on one of sony's touchdown runs. Should only get better with more time

that clank off his face mask was ugly...

watson was ok last night... hope tonight helped knock that rust off, because his positive contributions will be needed in the upcoming slate of games

Yep I was hoping no-one picked him up lucky for us Watson still have game and is Leagues beyond these  you know what I mean.

All he needs to do is not drop passes and run his routes well. He can do both.

If he can give the Pats 3 good catches a game and some reasonable blocking that's all they need from that spot and it would be a massive step up from what they've been getting.

That makes him our best tight end :(

1st game in almost 2 months. He was OK. Had a couple of decent catches including the 4th down one.

Was nice to see a serviceable tight end out there again, made me think that's what we should have prioritized when trading for a new offensive skill position player. But thankfully I'm not the coach of the Patriots so we'll see how Sanu does.

Figured there could be some rust, and that’s to be assumed. One of the biggest takeaways was how good of shape he appears to be in physically given his age.

Middle-of-the road receiving production, and slightly above average blocking is all they really need at the TE position. It’s looking very doable.

This is what a Professional National Football League Tight End - even at 38 years old - looks like...Pity that there isn't in the building already a young TE of the Future for Watson to mentor...the lessons he could've learned from him...

Players play and coaches coach. But yes it would have been nice for the Patriots to have retained Andrew Beck. These things happen.

Dawson Knox would have been nice

I'm sure that youth vs. experience had something to do with it. Seems like TE is going to be an issue next year too if we go with Watson and whomever for the rest of the year. I'm sure BB was hoping one of the younger guys would take the opportunity and run with it, so he'd be set at TE next year. Injuries have prevented that, so you go back to Plan B, which is take the vet who knows the system and can step right in, and worry about next year, next year.

Sanu is here because the Falcons said yes. If reports are true, OJ Howard isn't here because the Bucs said no.

Us not trading for a TE doesn't mean we didn't prioritize it.

We still need a Blocking TE I would inquire of Tyler Eifert and if it goes well just hope he doesn't hurt himself after he hangs up the phone. Knock on wood he's been healthy in 2019 so far.

Despite how it may have looked against the Jets the TE play as a whole was much improved. A week prior they couldn't convert on short downs or punch it in against the Giants whose front is terrible. Monday Sony got in 3 times with Watson and Tomlinson along with some oddball players at FB leading the way. The Jets are currently ranked #2 in yards per carry allowed, they're tough to run on. The improved TE play will really be highlighted against the Browns this week.

BB agrees that Tomlinson sucks.

Somebody gotta have a TE who can Block more than air on a Roster somewhere get it done BB.

Is that what he thought when he cut Ben Watson then re-signed him a week later. Rosters are fluid.

Izzo and LaGlasse:rolleyes: have pictures Watson was out of desperation.

Dawson Knox would have been nice

T.J. Hockenson would have been nice if we're talking about players that have never been Patriots.
