Jordan Richards released

Exactly. He played zero defensive snaps in this stint. People overreacted to his signing.

I'm sorry, he is not worth an active roster spot. You don't risk having him on the field in a break glass in case of emergency situation.

In case anybody's curious, Jordan Richards is an impressive guy. He won national scholar-athlete awards while earning a degree in public policy from Stanford, has been active as a community volunteer since long before he entered the NFL, and is planning on pursuing a graduate degree in education to become a teacher.

That doesn't make him a good NFL safety, of course. But given some of the ugly characters in this league, seeing so much personal vitriol against one of the real good guys is kind of a shame.

His play directly contributed to losing a SB. I'd buy him lunch on the way to Logan.

And we can all finally exhale

Oh yeah, absolutely. I'd love to see someone else pay him a bunch of money, and I'm rooting for him to have a long career with someone else. And there are terrible teams who could use him, even if only as a culture guy and backup safety. Like the Bucs could definitely benefit from having him in the post-Jameis era, or the Dolphins. But goddamn I never want to see him take another snap in a Patriots uniform.

Then you should cut Slater and Ebner today, because neither should be on the field in a break glass in case of emergency situation.

Personal? All the comments I've read are about his on the field play. I for one knew nothing about him off the field one way or the other till your post.

I was thinking of the posts calling Richards things like "vile scum." As for the fans who don't want to see him at all on defense and feel that Bethel is an upgrade on special teams...well, that would be all of us. :)

Yeah, that's unfortunate. I kinda doubt they meant such comments to apply to his off the field life, but then again, some people do take this sports fan stuff a bit too seriously.

I'll try to reverse the karma by saying after reading your post that he's a better human being than I am, but yeah, I get really nervous when I see him on the field for the Pats D.

yeah, yeah, he's prolly a good guy, dont think anyone would argue that

but thank goodness he's gone because he sucked so bad.

I feel kind of sorry for Jordan Richards and pray to heaven he NEVER has read Patsfans.com.

Same here. I don’t hate the guy as a person but have Never liked his play

It's a sad day for the NFL.

I don't. We legit lost a Superbowl to the Eagles bc he played on defense.

.
So you want him to feel bad? Anyway, it's not entirely true he caused that loss.

I like his character and he tried hard that game but Brady would have 7 rings if Richards wasn't a total sieve that Superbowl.

Didn't even need viagra when I went to the local gloryhole tonight. Thank you for being a true inspiration, Jordan Richards.

He was a competent special teamer. I understand and like the move but he upgraded our ST unit while he was here.

Dude is the worst defensive player in the NFL and a passible guy on special teams. He's going to get a ring this year if they win. Dont let the door hit your ass on the way out.

So we're back to forgetting about Malcolm Butl.... never mind. :)

So he can come back as our character coach?
