The official Jakobi Meyers appreciation thread

I am actually surprised that he hasn't caught on until weeks 6-7. We should have been throwing it more to him for the last 8 weeks....

I think the kid is a future star in the making. I hated to see him miss being activated last week. I hated seeing him miss reps with TB12. By the end of the season he's going to be an absolute stud. I could give a sh** that he wasn't drafted.

I'm all in on Jakobi.
i have said it in other threads...he is always open and he catches everything. Once TB trusts him, he is going to be one of our best WRs.

He's on a crazy fast learning curve--he looks a lot more secure in the offense now. And thanks to Gunner, we know that Myers was trying to absorb and prepare for ALL of the WR roles. And that he's, like, the smartest athlete ever. :)

Taking it slow and steady....Myers is looking better and confident. Dont see why he can't be a regular contributor and one for the future

A much better start for Meyers than Thompkins (86.7% catch rate vs. 46.4%).

Yep love them hands catchers Meyers hate those body catchers Thomnous.

Myers could be the #6 WR after the bye. In that case, I see why he might not be a regular contributor.

Myers has proven that he's worth getting on the field. That was a great adjustment on the ball a few weeks back to catch it near the goal line. He just makes the play. He's a keeper.

Is Harry really going to be ahead of him? He hasn't shown anything

Barring someone going on IR:

Edelman-Gordon-Sanu/Dorsett-Sanu/Dorsett-Meyers-Harry

makes more sense, at least at the moment.

Given the injury rate with these guys, Brady and Josh will probably want to maintain a larger number of them in the rotation than they have in the past, so there are always three available who have been seeing action.

If Meyers continues on his pace he'll have 35 catches for 445yds this year.

Other rookie years...

Mitchell 32/401
Branch 43/489
JE 37/359
Dropson 37/519
Thompkins 32/466
Gronk 42/546
AH 45/563

What Myers does not have is obviously a track record in the NFL but so far he appears to have just as good hands as any other wr mentioned per attempts.....so until others show they are that much better he is more than a 6th option. Who would you start against the Ravens Harry or Myers ?

Look at those Rookie numbers and discount double catch Dropson is no longer in the League.

I don't see him as the #6 option as a problem. Meyers can be a #2 or #3 next year as long as he keeps progressing. However, there is no need to rush the situation. Also, Harry will probably be lower on the depth chart while he catches up to speed. Having depth again is a good feeling.

If Harry does manage to lap Meyers, then that would be pretty good news for Pats fans concerning Harry as I don't see Meyers dropping off.

Gordon isn't the #2 just because his injuries aren't severe enough for him to be on IR.

I agree that Sanu should be considered equal to healthy Dorsett; let's re-sign him!
