So we either give up a 3rd and a 4th for Sanders or a second for Sanu. Lack of injury concerns and extra year worth it?

Have not read "all" the posts, but the one's I've read rant about overpaying? The Patriots trade a second rounder for a free agent who will sign elsewhere next year giving the Patriots a third and possibly bring another Lombardi. I'm good with this trade. Did see where he's 6-6 as a QB and 4 of those passes were bombs, just sayin.

49ers are looking good at the moment but it's not a foregone conclusion that their 3rd and 4th is equivalent to a Patriots 3rd and 4th.

As to your question, yeah obviously.

Think Gordon is probably headed to IR, unfortunately. Knowing BB for the last 20 years he doesn’t make these types of trades without a big corresponding move coming. Very sad but Edelman/Sanu/Dorsett/Harry could probably get the job done. Huge loss though. Too bad AB is a space cadet, would be nice to have him right now.

Sanu is signed through next season.

That's just it. I don't know where Harry fits on this team unless Gordon gets IRd.

Not sure I agree with this. I think SF was able to offer less because they were no longer competing with NE for Sanders. Once we got Sanu, they went back to Elway and offered the 3rd and 4th...if anything Elway is going to get killed in Denver for not getting a 2nd from NE.

Big difference between getting a player for 1/2 a season and 1 1/2 seasons.

I honestly think they just liked Sanu, age, contract situation and his projected role over Sanders.

We will see how it translates from "on paper" to reality but only of the aspects I like most about Sanu is that they were trying to get him for some time now. This is not desperation.

I think Gordon will come back and we’re going to pull a WR by committee like we did with RB

IMO this smells a lot like N’Keal isn’t getting activated off IR. Not because he can’t physically but because they feel we need Wynn and Devlin down the stretch and this trade compensates for Harry.

Surprised this got as many agrees as it did because it is impossible. Once Harry started practicing he used up a return spot whether he's activated or not. I suppose NE could be unimpressed by what they saw, but it's more likely Harry is coming aboard either way. Only question is who goes to free up two spots. Bennett and....?

Sanu is bigger than Sanders and I think is a decent blocker so its not all about pure WR skills and stats. Im ok with it 3rd would have been better but perhaps its a sellers market.

Richards? Please?

Makes me wonder if Gordon/Harry are more injured than we expected. I know WR needed a boost, but I figured they'd hold off until Harry came back, Edelman and Gordon could heal up over the bye week, etc.

Love the player, though. Curious to see what this means for overall roster composition.

Harry struggled throughout spring/summer, missed a lot of time, not something BB needs to count on in January. Develin would be much more significant addition from IR but looks like he's out. Gordon is Gronk 2.0 the way his body gets abused & his head fighting demons so not a given for January either.

What this team needs for January to be virtually unbeatable is a competent & strong FB (presuming Wynn gets back). They tried w bunch of players yesterday (incl my boy Roberts which i thought they would) but to solidify and balance the offense esp. with weaker OL & TE, solid FB/HB is always a good idea for January..

What's this talk about Flash Gordon being IRed?? We can carry him until his ailments heals we have three useless TE's on the Roster at the moment.

True, but Sanders is the better player and has been more productive in his career. I think Sanu will do just fine here.

It was speculation.
