I wonder where Edelman falls on that list..

Lol and some of you thought a second rounder for Sanders was steep!

Because he's a FA after this year. Sanu is signed through next season. Ups his value a bit.

This is my favorite list for JE: All-Time Leaders In Post Season Receptions:

1. Jerry Rice 151
2.Julian Edelman 94
3.

Edelman has quite a few more postseason receptions than that.

Still curious how many yards Edelman has had from the slot since 2016, though... I'm surprised it's not top 5..

We have 3 of our top 4 WRs almost certainly back within the next 3 games.

Any WR we bring in will almost certainly take longer than that to even start to get up to speed.

A trade to try to fix the next 3 weeks would be silly.

Said that last week.

I don't love this trade but BB&Co have been right so often for so long that I can't do anything other than shrug and go "Welp, I guess I was wrong."

You guys angry about this are clearly not students of history.

None of us know how much longer Brady will play.
31 other teams will get a second round pick. One team will win the Super Bowl. If the Patriots win it will give the franchise an NFL best seventh and further cement the legacy of the greatest dynasty in the NFL.
I am all for it.

That second rounder will contribute a little in 2020 and might start in 2021. The window is now. Go all out.

Missing all of 2017 has to kill his chance, despite how prolific he is from the slot.

Chris

good deal, bad deal, who the F cares at this point. He is another good WR that will at the very least, open things up for others. We have a very good group of WRs now and if you count the RBs, its a pretty tough group to stop. God help the NFL when we get the OLine folks back and maybe our FB.

Comments:

a.) Not reading all 27 pages. So, forgive me in advance...

b.) I like the player we are getting. I'd have preferred a 100% healthy A.J. Green...but Green isn't even playing nor practicing fully yet. As for Manny Sanders...a bit pricey and would be a FA. Sanu is under a reasonable contract for 2020.

c.) Giving up a 2nd sucks....but it is also good news...it means we set the WR market. Nobody else is getting Green for less than a 2nd now at least.

d.) Bennett is still with us.

e.) We must be RIGHT AT THE CAP limit right now. Can't have any more injuries....(fingers crossed)

f.) I think this makes it more of a POSSIBILITY that N'Keal Harry isn't activated this year *if* Develin can show that he will come back at 100% before then. Right now we are loaded at WR with Edelman, Gordon, Sanu, Dorsett, Meyers, and Olszewski. How many reps would Harry earn if Edelman/Gordon/Sanu are the starters? Harry would be competing for reps with Dorsett/Meyers. Then again...Harry is a red zone large body...hmmm...hmmmm....and Gordon still could go AWOL.

I'm sure that someone's already gone over the whole "Kraft cutting AB has now cost the team..." portion of this, so I'll pass on that for the moment...

I like that the team has addressed an obvious positional need. I'd, personally, have preferred either a Patriots-style slot or outside speed, but I'm sure that McDaniels will enjoy finding ways to work in all the WR parts, and Sanu will add to the overall level of play. When you add Sanu in the mix, along with Watson, things seem to be much more settled. The team might still look to add another TE, if they don't think Thomlinson is a long term solution, and the team needs to find an RB1 who's playing like an RB1, but Wynn should solve a lot of the OL problems.

So, adding Watson, Sanu, and Wynn should stabilize the offense at all "levels" except RB, and (barring more injuries) RB1 seems as if it's going to be the final question moving forward.

I wish people would stop with the Harry stuff. He’s playing this year. Wynn and harry will be the guy’s coming off IR. We could use two big bodied wrs like gordon and harry on the outside. They will interchange. They will split reps.

Yup! That was an old number that stuck with me but most importantly is No.2 All-Time and climbing.
