Patriots trade for WR Mohamed Sanu, for a second-round pick

There was a half where we saw JE, Meyers, Gunner, and Izzo as our offensive pass catchers. I don't ever want to see that again, especially going into the meat of the season.

Signing Sanu is a good thing to make up for the entire AB/DT fiasco. Idc what picks were given, this was required. Only question left: who gets cut?

They didn't "SIGN" Sanu. They traded for him

As for who get's cut, it may not be anyone. They could IR LaCosse to free up a space. Jordan Richards could be cut. Tomlinson could be cut. There are a number of moves they could do.

The trade feels a lot better if you assume the 2nd rounder was going to be a secondary pick.

Now need to work on the O line. Get Wynn back, activate Cajuste, and jettison the current fill-ins at OT.

Can they bring back Cajuste and two other players or does he count as one of the two? How does this work?

Once again, Little Billy gets anal-raped in a trade with a former protege...he should've told Dimitroff the the 2nd-rounder is for Austin Hooper ONLY, and that if Tommy Boy didn't like it, then he can go FECK OFF...But Noooooo...

Wonder what it means for meyers, at full strength wed have edelman, Gordon, sanu, dorsett, harry, meyers.

I think Meyers is still in the mix he played very well last night and could have had Two Long TD's one he has held the other Brady got hit.

Edelman/Dorsett - 5'10
Gordon- 6'3
Harry - 6'4
Meyers - 6'2
Sanu - 6'2

You figure Edelman wont come off, but any combination of 2-3 below gives you serious size/jump ball potential here. Dorsett has been admirable so I'm not expecting him to be benched, but I love this big body pass catching crew on this roster.

FWIW -- Sanu works for me for a late 2nd. Price tag higher than you may wanna pay, but hes reliable and I think that's worth it when you wanna win now. I'm on board.

Lol and some of you thought a second rounder for Sanders was steep!

Cajuste is on NFI. It has nothing to do with the IR.

I would argue that he is, because of how he would fit in this offense. He has a knack for sitting in zone coverages, can beat every coverages, is a technican at route running, and (wait for it) can block.
Yep. He’s one of the better blocking wideouts in the league. His dividends will immediately be seen in the screen game.

yeah im hoping they can find a way to keep him active but itll be a crowded set in a couple weeks barring injuries. He did really well the last two games and im excited to see his progress. Gonna be hard to getvhim looks if Harry is activated and the rest are healthy.

If the rumor is true that the Falcons converted some/all of Sanu's remaining salary for this year to SB, then it's not steep at all. Miguel reported that if they converted all of it, then the Pats would be on the hook for 547K.. Which would be a steal.

I will be happy if we get Jarvis Landry type production from sanu but we shall see.

Meyers is Healthy and have Brady's trust need we say more?? Gordon could be hit or miss all year and Harry could be one of those injury prone First year players I'm just saying. Play with who you know or have Sanu still have to be acclimated but he has time.

Is Andy gone? I thought he had me in ignore or something.

I believe every 3 months he needs to enter a cocoon to replenish his argument powers.

No brainer...

Pats 2nd will be 61 or 62 overall. If Sanu does not sign with the Pats next season they will receive a 3rd comp pick...

That's an important point. From a value aspect a Patriot second rounder is lower -- small difference from it to the first 5 picks of the third round.
The costs is right with Sanu too. Low cap and plus a potential return of a 3rd pick.

If this guy can show good production it's worth it, IMHO. Whether he does have that production? It'll be what it'll be...

Lets hope Sanu is like the 2014 Brandon LaFell.

I think this is a wee bit dramatic. How many second rounders do we actually hit on versus getting straight up busts? You are overrating the value of that pick.
