Patriots trade for WR Mohamed Sanu, for a second-round pick

I’d imagine the convo went something like this...

“What will you take for Sanu?”
“I don’t know... a 2nd?”
“Done.”

I don’t like parting ways with a 2nd, but it’s definitely a need and gives them another body in the red zone. Andy, wherever he is, won’t like this at all. He thinks Sanu is a “JAG.”
Andy is currently screaming into his pillow right now. His brain can’t comrpehend that BB disagrees with him. He’ll get back with you later.

Please show me where I said "worst trade in history". Yeah, I thought so.

So sorry you got lumped in with all the other trolls complaining about the cost when you have no idea what it is as of yet.

As soon as Harry started practicing, one of the return spots gets used, even if he doesn't end up returning.
I would never waste the opportunity to use Harry. He’s a big, physical guy who can make acrobatic catches. What we’ve been missing for a while.

There are no good LT's available as teams like to make sure their QB's don't get killed. The plan there is to hope Newhouse lets Brady live long enough to see Wynn return.

Just when Meyers was starting to get chemistry with Brady too. I don’t even see him as an upgrade since it’s going to take time for him to learn his offense. Sanu really is a career 2nd or 3rd wr, a 2nd is really too much, for an average wr. People who say it’s just draft capital, must not realize that’s how you build teams, through the draft. We have drafted well recently.

Just have to survive Myles Garrett this week

Trying to wrap my head around the seemingly high cost which BB agreed to
Many factors that likely overlapped to get to this trade
Lack of WR depth and experience
Physically Gordon looked to be a shell of his former self when he was on the field. Bigger & slower with his best move being his ability to shed would be tacklers. Underwhelming when starting, now injured but still on roster.
Lack of Red Zone targets. Think of the great Gronk years when Brady just fed Gronk who was unstoppable in the end zone. These days Brady has no pass catcher to set up shop inside the end zone.
Pats’ 2019 top 3 draft picks have basically been red shirted for various reasons....injury, too much starting talent...and these guys will be seen seen as more impactful players next year minimizing the need for a 2020 #2 to help the team immediately
Devaluation of draft picks: Crap shoot/ lack of immediate production/ ever increasing cap space that allows teams to afford more experienced players
Then there’s:
Pressure Brady is exerting both behind the scenes and in public to get more talent on O side of ball.
Brady’s last hurrah? In NE? In the NFL?

Selfishly, I want NE to have as many premium draft picks as possible to get blue chip type O linemen so this trade hurts my cause. I’ll add in a TE as well

Is it possible they gave a second and Atlanta's paying some salary so we could fit him under the cap

If the trade was just a 2nd for Sanu, it's a horrible deal..

Will be interesting to see what cap adjustments they make since they didn't have enough space to cover Sanu's cap hit..

Yes i don’t get it . I think sanu will give us some plays but nothing earth shattering. Meyers was starting to build some chemistry with brady.

Practicing counts as "activation" with respect to returning from IR. So Harry counts as one of the two slots even if he never sees the 53-man roster this season.
That blows.

It's a second rounder pick. Wake the f&k up already.
And by no means am I a troll. I just went off this too early on this is all. Go find a post where I "trolled" and I'll go to Atlanta and lobby, until draft day3, on your behalf to have Atlanta send us a 5th round pick to even out the trade.

Sanu is a go to receiver on 3rd down and insurance for Edelman. We needed that. Meyers can't beat elite slot corners yet

Ok I'll have an open mind to the Sanu acquisition Great Gordon insurance with no known injury issues. Plus $6Mill in 2020 pretty cheap for a WR of his caliber. And a Patriots Second Rounder is really a High Third Round see I'm playing.:D

He’s gonna make plays for us but i don’t think he puts this offense over the top. I can’t wait to see what harry could bring to this offense. He’s a rookie but we have seen some rookie wideouts do some things this year including AJ brown and metcalf.
