The next question is roster spot and cap implications. I wonder if they cut Bennett ? I’d hate that, but something has to happen.

They'd likely be able to trade Bennett for SOMETHING rather than just cutting him.

I'm not sure what people are watching. Sanu is arguably our 2nd best WR now and a very good system fit.

Honestly, I like FOOTBALL. He's another good option for Brady. That's important. Whether he is a #1, 2,3 or 6 I could care less. Can he learn the routes, get open and make the catch????

FFL means nothing to what goes on on the field.

.

I think a team can have multiple players who have been IRd but can only choose 2 to activate.

I think in 2017 they had McClellen, Valentine and someone else practicing and chose the someone else. I forget who that was....
That was my impression of the rule as well. I thought when they got activated was when they counted against the 2 slots.

Your opinion is factually wrong.

The moment Harry stepped on the practice field it burned an IR-DTR. You only get 2, so once Harry practiced he took 1 of the IR-DTR spots. So even if he doesn't get activated Pats would only have 1 IR-DTR left and would have to choose between Wynn & Develin.
Guess my understanding was wrong.

I see sanu as another option out there. I just hope it doesn’t take snaps away from a kid like meyers.

Nice problem to suddenly have, no?

.

That's actually a useful skill (hand speed and big hands) for when the ball arrives it doesn't give the defender time to react and break up the pass.

My understanding was you could only activate 2 players. Allowing them to practice does not constitute activating them.

it doesn't but it still takes away one spot. If you activate them to the active roster it's another discussion.

But with harry practicing only 1 designated return spot is left

As soon as Harry started practicing, one of the return spots gets used, even if he doesn't end up returning.

not sure how that will work cap wise but I would welcome OL help more than TE
This team will be alright at the TE position if Watson stays healthy.

Harry is coming back, he’s just too good not to. BB wouldn’t draft a weapon like that in the first round and not use him at all. Gordon isn’t going on IR because the injury isn’t that serious, it’s similar to Sony’s knee injury from a year ago. I think gunner gets the boot

There are no teams willing to give up quality OL at this point...

If the trade was just a 2nd for Sanu, it's a horrible EDIT: not a great deal.. but it helps long term

Will be interesting to see what cap adjustments they make since they didn't have enough space to cover Sanu's cap hit..

A cheap young option for 4 years versus an old expensive guy for 1.5 years, yeah we do. If Sanu was 27 and we could extend him for reasonable money I would be fine with the compensation but right now they over paid.

What did they pay? You mean we don't know yet? You can read reports all you want, but your comment is clueless at this point. Here is a fact for you to swallow. The Pats have to have the cap space for the trade. They don't. That means they have to create it. What did they do? What? You don't know that either? hmmmmmm worst trade in history.

Ok I'll have an open mind to the Sanu acquisition Great Gordon insurance with no known injury issues. Plus $6Mill in 2020 pretty cheap for a WR of his caliber. And a Patriots Second Rounder is really a High Third Round see I'm playing.:D
