Patriots trade for WR Mohamed Sanu, for a second-round pick

I remember watching super bowl LI micd up and he was one of the few falcon players when they were up 28-3 who were saying “he’s Tom brady, they can definitely come back.”.

He's also the lone Falcon on that bench who was shaking his head saying "No, man, he CAUGHT that" during the Edelman catch replays. His teammates were vehemently arguing with him.......

.

You’re drinking the sanu kool-aid. He doesn’t make this offense any much better. He’s just another target. .......

....hence he makes the offense better!!!!!!!

They needed DEPTH. This isn't FFL.

.

A cheap young option for 4 years versus an old expensive guy for 1.5 years, yeah we do. If Sanu was 27 and we could extend him for reasonable money I would be fine with the compensation but right now they over paid.

A cheap young UNKNOWN option for MAYBE 4 years, but statistically closer to 2-3. You might get a Gronk or a Collins, but you also might get a Chad Jackson or a Wheatley. You seem to think it's a given that whoever we draft with that 2nd rounder is a guarantee and nothing could be farther from the truth. They're all pieces that represent potential.

Am I the only only one who thinks this guy is a little huge to play WR

I think a team can have multiple players who have been IRd but can only choose 2 to activate.

I think in 2017 they had McClellen, Valentine and someone else practicing and chose the someone else. I forget who that was....

When you start practicing you take one of the 2 spots.

I'm not sure what people are watching. Sanu is arguably our 2nd best WR now and a very good system fit.

What are the full terms of the trade? Oh, whats that? We don't know yet? Yup, worst trade in history.
Please show me where I said "worst trade in history". Yeah, I thought so.

I will never ever get the obsession throughout nfl fandom with hoarding draft picks. The truth is most of them never turn into anything significant and most take a few seasons to develop into productive starters.

So I'm in favor of adding an impact veteran WR who will make plays now for a 2nd rounder that might but probably wont due anything in 3 years.
I tend to agree with you. Don’t we have several third round picks anyhow? We have the best defense in the league and that sets us up very nicely to make the Super Bowl as long as the offense can be relatively efficient. Sanu can help us trend in that direction.

Brady throws to Edelman who throws to Sanu who throws to Gunner Olszewski.
No no no! Brady to Edelman to Meyers to Sanu to Gunner. Don't forget that Meyers was a QB, too.

Sanu is an excellent blocker too. Will help the running game.

Remember that guy Chris Hogan who used to catch a lot of balls and help this team without being a #1 or #2 receiver? Yes he's gone and we couldn't replace that production. Sanu comes to give back that production to our offense if not better. Solid player who will pick the offense right away.

Talent by talent I think I prefer Sanders, but he's older, injury prone, expensive and Denver will trade him to the Patriots only if no one else show interest, and probably will hold on to him until the trade deadline. We get out WR earlier and that's good.

The price is all right, a little steep but they might have paid a little extra just to have the deal finished already instead of wasting hours and days negotiating and risk losing it to another team, also we just spent another 2nd rounder in a CB who is not seeing the field, I think I would suffer a stroke if BB went for another DB with that 2nd round pick so I'm completely fine with trading it for a proven player.

Our second best wr? That’s a stretch man. I think gordon is better though he hasn’t lived up to expectations this season.

He gives them another target. I hope gordon is rested and is not put on IR.

Not sure why people try to draw conclusions from this.

We talked for weeks that we need Harry back and ANOTHER WEAPON.

Now that it's happening people are confused. WHY?

Practicing counts as "activation" with respect to returning from IR. So Harry counts as one of the two slots even if he never sees the 53-man roster this season.

Not a stretch at all.

Yeah Sanu suks. Defenses won't pay any attention to him cuz he suks so bad....
Better than relying on myers and gunner. He was not worth a second imo.

I see sanu as another option out there. I just hope it doesn’t take snaps away from a kid like meyers.
