Patriots trade for WR Mohamed Sanu, for a second-round pick

Harry will make more of an impact than sanu when he comes back assuming he gets the snaps. That’s my prediction.

An injured rookie? Sanu will be making important plays down the stretch while Harry is on the bench.

Wow! This is one of the worst trades/overpays BB has done. Sanu has looked washed up the last few games and likely will be released after the season. He is not and never was a good WR2. NOt sure what games some of you were watching. He has good hands, yes. I'll give him that. He'll help with depth and this may signal that JGordon may be out for few more games. This is a desperation move because BB couldn't squeeze any other good receiver (we need a WR NOW!) from other teams and the cost(salary cap as well) was likely too high. The good news is we are not good at picking in the second round. I would not doubt it another trade is made especially if BB clears some cap space and/or trades Bennett.

What are the full terms of the trade? Oh, whats that? We don't know yet? Yup, worst trade in history.

Matt Chatham is the guy I listened to before the Patriots-Eagles superbowl. I was shovelling my driveway while he told me how the Patriots defense was underrated and they were so much better than the statistics said. He told me the defense was going to play really well and the Eagles were going to have a tough time.

HAHA, Matt Chatham the jokes on you, the Patriots defense couldn't stop a soft breeze in that game.

Coach's Decision.

Chatham is the most insightful, no BS commentator out there.

.

I remember watching super bowl LI micd up and he was one of the few falcon players when they were up 28-3 who were saying “he’s Tom brady, they can definitely come back.”.

Yeah Sanu suks. Defenses won't pay any attention to him cuz he suks so bad....

He hasn't even played a snap in a Patriots uniform and this is Bill's worst trade ever? Get a grip.
"one of the worst", not "worst trade ever". BIG difference. Get a comprehension app.

How many former Rutgers players does that make now?

Yeah. I hope he does make an impact but I doubt he just comes in on fire. Gonna take some time

I’d imagine the convo went something like this...

“What will you take for Sanu?”
“I don’t know... a 2nd?”
“Done.”

I don’t like parting ways with a 2nd, but it’s definitely a need and gives them another body in the red zone. Andy, wherever he is, won’t like this at all. He thinks Sanu is a “JAG.”

Is Andy gone? I thought he had me in ignore or something.

Then you and I have a massive disagreement on the value of draft picks.
A cheap young option for 4 years versus an old expensive guy for 1.5 years, yeah we do. If Sanu was 27 and we could extend him for reasonable money I would be fine with the compensation but right now they over paid.

Fans massively overrate draft picks.

This pick will be around 62-64, Sanu is a very good chains mover who has a cheap cap hit and is under contract through 2020.

Aside from this, the trade options were incredible limited. TB was not moving Howard. Sanders and Green have big cap hits and are older.

Good trade.

I'll have to watch it again (oh darn), but I think Sanu was the one brandishing the bravado and someone else was telling him "That's Tom Brady though..." I could be wrong, not that it bothers me either way really. Players should always try to walk a line between confidence and ****iness. I don't want players who don't think they're good.

AB will likely line up against us during playoffs while we pick up the tab.

You are the most miserable poster on this board. For the life of me I cannot figure out why you are here? You draw no pleasure at all from the Pats.

Your opinion is factually wrong.

The moment Harry stepped on the practice field it burned an IR-DTR. You only get 2, so once Harry practiced he took 1 of the IR-DTR spots. So even if he doesn't get activated Pats would only have 1 IR-DTR left and would have to choose between Wynn & Develin.
I think a team can have multiple players who have been IRd but can only choose 2 to activate.

I think in 2017 they had McClellen, Valentine and someone else practicing and chose the someone else. I forget who that was....

The next question is roster spot and cap implications. I wonder if they cut Bennett ? I’d hate that, but something has to happen.

You’re drinking the sanu kool-aid. He doesn’t make this offense any much better. He’s just another target. Harry was drafted in the first round for a reason assuming he gets the snaps.
