Patriots trade for WR Mohamed Sanu, for a second-round pick

Gordon's stats over a 16 game season would 50 catches for 750 yards with the highest yards per reception on the team. For an offense that is having OL inconsistencies, I think you're being a bit harsh. Gordon is fine, and if he comes back is a piece we can definitely use.

Fantasy Football wont get it done for Brady.

We need Sanu to place real numbers and results.

I don’t like this trade it’s like giving up a second for mediocrity at the position.
AB and his stupid text my god

If I had to guess it’s going to end up being a pick swap where we get Sanu and a 4th round pick.
A second is a lot for Sanu. That’d be nice. We usually waste these second rounders anyways I guess.

************ if we traded a 2nd for Chris Conley you'd think it was awesome.

Picks are currency.

I think one of the biggest questions is, are the Patriots done with trades before the deadline? Or do they make a move on a TE or OL?

No kidding. We'd just wind up cutting/trading the player next year anyway...:p

At least Sanu will be here for a couple of years.

All aboard for the train to #7.

BB isn't leaving any bullets in the barrel.

At this stage of his career age 30....he’s more like a 4!.....I guess my first question is why is Sanu so much of an upgrade over Demaryius Thomas who we basically owned for peanuts?!?!

Bad take. Sanu would be second on the Patriots in receiving after Edelman based on his Atlanta stats and he was playing third fiddle to arguably the best WR in football and an ascending young star. On top of that, he's two years younger than Thomas, hasn't suffered any major injuries, and plays a physical, smart brand of football based on soft hands and smart routes that won't diminish a lot with age (unlike Thomas, an athletic freak coming off a torn Achilles at age 32).

Patriots: We’re 7-0, have the best defense the league has seen in years, just embarrassed our most hated opponent on national TV and made a trade to make the team better

Pats fans: Well this friggin sucks

This trade is a blatant acknowledgement that we are desperate at the WR position. We paid a hefty fees (2nd round) to bring an ok-ish receiver.

Meanwhile AB could be had for free and materially improves the team and he has no litigation pending.
Santa clause is coming to town....

A second for mediocre Sanu? Meh.

Has Bill been using Gronk’s CBD oil lately?

Not enough likes could sum up how accurate this statement is and how much I agree with it!

I like Sanu...but a second?? Idk...Sanders was cheaper. Too bad AB failed.

We need help on defense.

:p

Let's see, a consistent veteran, at a position of need, who averages 60 - 70 rec, 700-800 yards, 5 tds a season for pick #64 (hopefully) and we still have him for next season, and people are not happy! We were not getting Hooper. He's turning into a top 5 TE in the league at 25. You don't trade players like that. You use them to build your future. Even if it is his last year. Franchise him.

If this is how the Pats mortgage the future for Brady's now, I am totally fine with it.

Are we still in the market for a TE?
