Emmanuel Sanders Rumors: Here’s What Broncos Want In Return For Wideout

“Denver traded fellow veteran receiver Demaryius Thomas to the Texans last year for a 2019 fourth-round pick, and sources told ESPN that the Broncos are expected to be seeking a higher form of compensation for Sanders, who is in the last year of his contract,” Schefter wrote. “Sanders likely would welcome a change of scenery, the Broncos would welcome a second-day draft pick for him, and the possibility of it happening by Oct. 29 is real, according to sources.”

Ok they have, what, 7 Day 2 picks? I'm skeptical about bringing in 'WR I Have Heard Of du Joir" But he would be a pretty good depth piece/insurance policy for injuries.

Please get Sanders...the injuries on this team do not make for a team that can score and move the ball consistently as presently constituted... especially vs better quality teams...I actually don't think Bill will get anything other than some hack wr/special teamer to "help" w the offense, but will make a relatively big move on defense...my guess is Bill sees the injuries, the line play, and Brady's piss poor attitude and thinks, hmm, if I get receiver X we might score 21-24 in the playoffs...BUT if I get def player Y, we've got a real good shot to pitch shutouts

Touche.

I'd much rather him over Sanu. he can consistently stretch the field and makes good plays. He's also quick and shifty. Need this kid. Bill needs to do everything in his power to get him here....

and bring AB back :p

I am skeptical.

The Pats should not lose out if they really want Sanders. We have plenty of picks and could sweaten the deal. Sanders would be really nice here.

I think that you know my answer: anyone else that Belichick chooses.

Sanu might be the #2 WR on this team.

I'm also fine with Sanders.

This makes sense. Productive player in the Last year of his contract with a small cap hit. Falcons should be 1-6 after today. Biggest position of need. Some of these other players that are being tossed around have huge cap hits. We have 3.3 mil. (6 mil if we trade Bennett)
Killed today. Ryan hurt. Season ovah

The Patriots are unlikely to be able to make enough room to obtain any wide receiver of note at the deadline. OJ Howard, because he's on a rookie contract, is the only player who seems to be an option in any meaningful sense. Maybe Hooper.

I see hooper as a decent receiver who isn’t much of a blocker and wouldn’t really upgrade the position much.

You bring up a point I find funny.
It’s very common to read a comment like dmitroff will come to NE so Hooper will sign here because of him. But I’ve never understood that (including with coaches). What’s to say hooper has a good relationship with dmitroff much less an obligation? They are both in Atlanta but that doesn’t mean they even like each other. not challenging your comment just saying those type comments make me think.
Hooper is a massive upgrade over what we currently have and it's not close. TEs who block and catch are generational. At this point i'll take a receiving threat. We need one.

I have no idea if Dim and Hoop are tight. Just speculating.

The team could make several millions of space, signing restructures on the same day as the traded for player passes his physical.

Add Corey Davis to the list of players on rookie deals. They had joined practices so BB had enough time to check him out.]

Fingers crossed for a Chargers win today.

First, Belichick generally has little interest in major acquisitions, especially if they are being acquired for this season only. We can always use upgrades, but it is not clear that
any addition is worth the cap money.

WR
We have to get through the next 3 weeks. An acquisition won't help, unless we need a replacement for our new FB/TE.

Belichick could sign a WR for this year and the future, if he doesn't think that Edelman-Dorsett-Harry-Meyers is good enough to go into the playoffs and the offseason. I certainly expect the team to re-sign Dorsett. He is clearly worth more to us than to another team.

That being said, a mid-level pickup like Sanu or Sanders would be an upgrade, and would help us this season, certainly giving us depth at WR.

TE/FB
Personally, I think that Belichick likes LeCosse and sees him as part of the 2020 team. But, there certainly is room for a TE or even 2, if he believes that LeCosse needs to go on IR. I don't see a backup FB for another team being of much interest. Bolden or the new TE should be able to fill that role as well as a Practice Squad player. I would rather have 3 TE's active, than for us to have two TE's and a marginal FB.

BOTTOM LINE
I see a DT as being a more likely addition than a WR or TE, although any of these is possible.

Disagree. I am rooting for the Chargers to lose. If the Chargers lose their season is done and they will trade Keenan Allen to the patriots for a second round draft pick, and patriots nation will rejoice.

You gut me intrigued wanting Hooper. He is what we need. OLine and receiving help all in one. At the cost we need. Would be a hard negotiation to extend him but first things first
Hooper is cost effective. Give up one of the 3rds and call it a day.

I'm disinterested with all of the WRs

What do we miss the most from last season. The things that Gronk brought to the table. In Line blocking and a productive seam route target. All with in in your cap restrictions.

We can’t replace Gronk but we must try and replace his unfilled on field duties.
