Former Patriot Trent Brown accused of domestic violence

And thats how you could handle a civil case against you. Short statement and then let the lawyers deal with it.

No no! You subtweet and like posts slamming your accuser. Then you text people who write articles about you while sending pictures of your new accusers kids. That’s the ticket!

It is a criminal offense to file a false criminal report. There are no negative ramifications for filing a completely false civil suit.

The fact that she filed a civil suit should lead everyone to believe that she is a lying money hungry .......

The NFL has opened this Pandora’s box with hits player discipline, they should have stuck with only acting AFTER a criminal conviction.

Not according to Sports Illustrated. It's very much a "Patriots story"

Report: Former Patriot Trent Brown Sued for Domestic Violence

In today's media it's all about the clicks. Don't get the clicks then you're not making money. Even the one time decent SI has succumbed to that Internet age reality. Headline Examples:
Oakland Raider charged with crime = 5,000 clicks.
former New England Patriot charged with crime = 50,000 clicks.

Other headline:
Survey Shows Those That Take Sports Media At Face Value Suffer From Delusions = 2 clicks :)

Got rid of him just in time.
If the Raiders cut him, I wonder how many fans will be clamoring for us to sign him. As long as he doesn't threaten his kids or any other children via text, we're all good... right?? Let's hope we don't sign the beast.

Dante Scarnecchia is a lines coach, not a family counselor.

Yet making a criminal conviction stick is far more difficult than civil cases where a settlement is more often the outcome. Yes, that means attracting some liars. But many honest people file civil suits and shouldn't be called money hungry *whatever sexist thing ....... means *. In the end, your post seems to be more about distrusting women and denying potential abuses without hearing the case than about justice being done right.

Maybe interesting only to me:

Alleged “incidents” supposedly began March 2018 but lawsuit filed only after Brown signs mega deal 3/11/2019

Girlfriend claims “Non marital partnership agreement”
Unclear if agreement is in written form.
California law does not require written agreements and will go so far as to make rulings on supposed oral or “implied” agreements without documentation.

Girlfriend’s reps have already tried to reach a financial settlement

Brown refuses to settle

I’ll remain suspicious until I learn if agreement is an actual contract that defines financial responsibilities or a claim of a verbal agreement.
For the time being, I view the domestic violence accusations as a leverage tactic

Just wait until it all washes out, this is a money grab and everyone knows it. If she was really violated wouldn’t she want actual justice instead of money??

If someone killed a loved one of yours, would you want them arrested and you can still file a wrongful death lawsuit? Just ask OJ.

A criminal charges does not preclude a civil one, so when only a civil charge is brought and the alleged crime is still within the statue of limitations. It makes you go hmmmmm.

These threads are inevitably exactly alike and completely unproductive, but it's cool as a reminder of who the worst posters on the board are.

This whole offseason and season has been one long rinse, wash, and repeat of men allegedly threatening/attacking women, there being a backlash against the accusers who are called money grubbing "........", and the forum exploding into an insult war that ends with everyone unhappy. In the meantime, the Patriots keep winning since they just cut distractions and focus on, you know, football.

I wonder if everyone will advocate he just pay her off like they were saying AB should have. We'll have a flood of civil suits soon. Why not give it a shot. No downside and you might get a payoff as a player tries to avoid the damaging consequences.

I thought Trent's accuser did file a police complaint, though. Or the cops responded to a call...something along those lines.

Chris

These guys are rewarded from almost day one for being big, physical, and violent. It's not a big surprise to me when they can't shut that off.

Antonio Brown needs to pay Attention to this because class is in session.

Hes busy. He’s still searching the internet for a “prof reader” for his English paper.......

If threads like these offend you so, then why are you reading & posting in them?
