Buried at the bottom of this story about the Rams’ CB trades is the tidbit that the Rams also traded a 2021 draft pick to the Browns for OL Austin Corbett, a 2018 second round pick. Did the Pats miss an opportunity?

Water under the bridge now let's hope Isaiah Wynn get back and stay healthy because I can't see us getting to the SB much less winning it with Marshall Newhouse at LT.

The Rams’ left guard was a contender for worst in the NFL. Then he tore his ACL, meaning they had to put somebody even worse out there. The Rams are hoping Corbett can be the 5th worst guard in the NFL to upgrade their worst guard in the NFL. Based on reports out of Cleveland, he may not even be able to do that.

Just off the top of my head to name a few Couch, Green, Manziel, Richardson, Quinn...the list of failed 1st round picks is long enough to preclude putting 2nd rounder Corbett (ahem) 'up there' as one of the worst

They do bring that up in the article:

"On the website profootballreference.com, there’s a stat called Career Approximate Value. It assigns a single number to the general value of a player’s career. Since 1999, among players drafted by the Browns among the top 50 picks, only four have a CAV of 5 or lower. Here are those scores.

5, Johnny Manziel, QB, 2014 draft, No. 22

4, Justin Gilbert, CB, 2014 draft, No. 8

3, Brian Robiskie, WR, 2009 draft, No. 36

2, Brady Quinn, QB, 2007 draft, No. 22

1, Austin Corbett, OL, 2018 draft, No. 33"

no. He is a JAG and couldn't even get on the field with the Browns.
That story says
“Corbett appeared in 14 games for the Browns.”

As a second year player he only had 22 games he could’ve been in, so it seems he was getting on the field for them. No idea of snap counts or how he graded of course, but let’s not create alternative facts just to bolster our arguments.

He'd played in 3 games this season, and was only averaging 6% of the snaps in those games. Given that, "He is a JAG and couldn't even get on the field with the Browns" doesn't seem like a problem.

15 offensive snaps in 14 games, never more than 4 in a game.

A bunch of his “games played” were just for being on the field goal team.

To be fair, though, the same argument was made about Akeem Ayers before his trade to NE a few years back. [Note: I'm not claiming he will be good for the Rams, merely that "he couldn't get PT on a bad team" isn't a guaranteed winning argument.]

That wasn't the argument with Ayers at all. He led the Titans in tackles in 2012. The year after he had a bunch of injuries and then the Titans replaced their coaches and changed schemes. Ayers ended up in a bad situation due to health and no longer being a scheme fit. Corbett just sucks.

BB/Casserio get calls daily with offers for there DB depth players. They're hard to come by and not likely be traded for an O -lineman

If Wynn doesn't return from IR this team is in big trouble. When has a team with a bad OL won a SB? Can't remember one.

If Wynn isn't healthy enough to return, it's time to draft another OL. While he has potential, Wynn seems to be injury prone.

Our OL is still average compared to the rest of the league.

You're right because there isn't any.

the 2008 Steelers had a really bad OL. They’re probably the worst to win a Super Bowl in the past 20 years. They were awful at run blocking and equally bad at pass blocking.
