That Was A Disgusting Display By The Refs 10/14 Det vs GB

Hadn't Detroit won three of the last 4 games played in Lambeau before last night????

With varying degrees of Rodgers being injured.

I think Stafford’s career record through last year (may be worse now) was 5-46 against teams with winning records, and something like 2 career road wins against them.

Of course ranting on some message boards wont cause any movement, but we're hearing prime time broadcasters doing it all the time now.

Exactly, just because we're not being heard by league officials doesn't mean the bad calls don't exist or should be ignored.

Right after the Packers were kicking a field goal in the 4th, and Detroit got a 12 man penalty which lead to a GB touchdown.. i turned the game off because I knew how it was going to end

I used a bit of hyperbole but I am of the mindset there would be a noticeable amount of time added to games if we are reviewing more and more penalties, whether that be because of coaching challenges or reviews inside two minutes
I am ass-uming of course that the coaches' challenges will still be limited to the number of timeouts they have remaining, same as it is now...There may be more reviews within the final 2 minutes when challenges are no longer accepted, but I'm willing to stick around an extra 5-12 minutes if it means that a call was properly made.

I’m not even a Lions fan and I am livid. That might’ve been the worst reffing performance that I’ve seen, and I’ve seen a lot of incompetent reffing. Clete Blakeman is putrid at his job.

Just thankful I’m not a Lions fan. Probably the first time I’ve ever looked at a game and truly wondered that it was fixed. Just disgusting.

Disgusting. The NFL can’t have this kind of horsesh!t.

They want Rogers to win. The refs are awful

And just to be clear, I hate both teams

And last night the Packers had enough WR injuries (Adams and Allison) for them to have lost. Their offense struggled the entire night.

It is impossible for refs to make calls accurately in real time as the game is too fast and rules too complicated. Assessing the amount of grabbing that is OK vs what is pass interference while the players are running full speed and the ball is in the air just cannot be done.

To me the best answer would be to give each team 5 challenges. All plays can be challenged with the specific infraction being outlined (holding on #75 etc,) - standard to overturn would be less stringent than current PI approach but it still needs to "be clear" (which I realize is still not easy) Team loses a timeout and is assessed a 10 yard penalty on a call that is not overturned which should reduce just taking a flyer on it. No booth challenges - all would need to be made by the coach. Official in the booth makes the replay call and just communicates to ref and as quickly as possible.

With the new rule - questioning calls or non calls becomes a bigger part of strategy. If there is a bad call late and you are either out of challenges or fail to challenge it that is on you. I am generally not a big fan of replay in general but it seems this is where we are and if they do not tweak the the process bad call outrage will never end.

If the league can expect players to make split second decisions about head angles, and approaches, the players and fans can expect the league and officials to get calls made properly.

You can wish/expect/demand whatever you want from the refs but I have been watching it for nearly 50 years and bad calls have always happened and always will. Only difference is quality of TVs and the 24/7 coverage, Don't disagree about players getting fined for hit angles they have no control over and remain surprised the player association agrees to it.

Goodell got his revenge on Patricia for his Goodell clown shirt.

He makes himself look even more like a clown with those obvious bad calls. Goodell's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

I've been watching NFL football over SIXTY years and I've never seen anything called like that shytshow we witnessed and endured for two long years called Dehategate. Can the NFL do something about it? You're dyam right they can. They DO NOT want to. That wasn't just a "bad call" last night...it was ANOTHER in a string of "coincidental" gaffes perpetrated by NFL crews since Goodell assumed the mantle 0f "King Article 46" in 2006. Every season it's gotten worse under this azzole's "leadership. I CAN wish and SHOULD expect better.

Horrible officiating being excused by previous horrible officiating.

We as consumers should not give our displeasure in services rendered?

"We should have let Firestone keep selling exploding tires because tires have occasionally exploded before. These new engines are too powerful."

When you know better, you do better. The NFL has seemingly actively avoided doing better.

My guess(tinfoil hat/doobie ramble alert): the dysfunctional teams get the benefit of chaos, where the experience in such leads to an edge in competitiveness. The good teams don't care when things get screwy to pump the breaks on a 33-3 lead with 9 minutes to go in the third. The league gets to bloviate about nonexistent parity (look over there-Dak gets Samchized!). The cream settles at the top, year after year, with a few swings in conference power (usually a bad division or two per year) providing cinderella stories to sell for wild card weekend. Then the league "hand picks" their teams of blind mice to impose their buffoonery upon the masses.

"Will Big **** Nick steal Wentz's ring, again?!"
"Tom Brady is over the cliff and the balls are inflated!"
"Mahomes threw it with his eyes closed! Great student of the game!"
"Can the Cinderella Titans knock off Colts for a trip to Foxborough?"
"Bob Kraft got a handy."
"Pete Carrol was so 'PUMPED AND JACKED' after securing a home game, he tore his shirt off and tackled DK Metcalf!"
"DangerRuss tells 'Petey Boy' to keep the fg team on bench in miraculous comeback victory."
"Diggs still *****ing about trade after 0 targets in week 17. Set to face Panthers in Wildcard Matchup in 3 days."

So everyone here is yelling "conspiracy." I looked at a replay of one of the bogus hands-to-the-face calls, and I can easily see how it was made. Flower's hands were on the shoulder pad, but pretty close to the neck, and Flowers is so strong that the guy's back and head tilted back - exactly what you would see if it was in fact hands to the neck or face. The guy maybe even faked a head snap-back in an attempt to get the call.

We're seeing all these replays in slow motion and from the best angle. And we know what to look for. Not so easy when it's all real time and you don't know where to focus.

yeah...OK, how about the DB WRAPPING HIS RIGHT ARM around the Det TE in the 1st half and not being flagged , which led to a punt instead of points? what's your "replay" eyes tell you about THAT one?

Not saying it’s a conspiracy . It’s just a ****ty call , that was made twice on the same guy. Sorry but that’s really not acceptable

Roger “I bleed green and white and not just I have the clap” goddell remains an embarrassment and a disgrace to the nfl. Everyday, the nfl more and more resembles the wwe, or even worse the clowns of pro basketball. To fix a game because Patricia wore a shirt that depicted him honestly, is disgusting! Shame on you goddell.

I know goddell keeps letting Jerry and woody bang his wife so they will not get him voted out of office, but at some point, he has to have some degree of self respect.

probably too much to ask from a jets fan!

Yup. The 2 illegal hands to the face calls. One gave the Pack a TD, and the other gave the Pack an easier FG while also preventing Detroit from getting the ball with one minute left, only down by one point.

AND that BS unnecessary roughness call on Detroit's DB when he was going for the ball.
That "unnecessary roughness" flag ultimately wound up with the Packers scoring a TD on that drive, if I'm not mistaken. While they could have wound up scoring anyway, I believe it would've been 3rd down and 8 or 10 yards if that flag isn't thrown... and the Packers definitely punt if they don't convert.

While it's true the Lions got hosed they did very little to help themselves through the last 3 quarters. TDs not FGs! Stupid play calling both offensively and defensively. Not to me tion that 12 men on the field on 4th down.

They played scared to lose and allowed the game to be close enough where 2 bad untimely calls could change the balance.

While I feel bad for lions fans I don't feel bad for the lions or their coaches. Learn this lesson or repeat it and stay losers forever. Their choice.

Wins aren't something you protect and keep away from the other team. It's something you take from the other team.

Bad calls happen every game. Non calls happen every game.

The Chiefs were called for hitting Brady in the head last AFCC and it never happened.

You cant tell me that no calls went the Lions way.
While that wasn't roughing the passer on Brady in the AFCCG, on the very same play, Edelman was significantly interfered with. So the former ended up making up for the no-call on Edelman.
