That Was A Disgusting Display By The Refs 10/14 Det vs GB

You can't have 100 percent accuracy rate by the refs. It's impossible. why have coaches challenges then? The best solution is to be able to challenge everything. And in egregious situations, a sky ref can tell the referee to pick up the flag. Why is this so difficult for the league?

All the leagues should have a team of 3 in the box reviewing and making the decisions. Its ridiculous that they wont do it. (I think hockey does). Could be much faster too

I said it a million times when the replacement refs were in; there is no difference between these so called NFL refs and a guy on the street. They are terrible and I am sure they are doing some of these things intentionally.

There's no doubt there is a lot of gambling involved here by some of the refs

Bad calls happen every game. Non calls happen every game.

The Chiefs were called for hitting Brady in the head last AFCC and it never happened.

You cant tell me that no calls went the Lions way.

I agree it was a bad call as the Chiefs defender hit him in the shoulder. This is where another set of eyes from the box would help. All they have to do is call down to the head ref and say pick up the flag and make an announcement. It's not that difficult. The problem is this league is run by old men who don't like big changes for whatever reason...

I watched a few games this week where the calls were very suspect.
The Dallas/ Green bean game as an example..

Last night was laughable.
It's just so obvious at this point that there is favoring.

They know we will keep watching no matter what they do.

why should i care if trey flowers caught a bad flag or two? or ten... he doesn't play in New England anymore.

lions had that game won and blew it... they didn't lose because of flags ... they lost because they couldn't score when it mattered... the patricia drafted wannabe gronk there dropped that pass in the end zone ... stuff like that, that caused them to lose... wipe away 4 points, lose by 2...

Honestly, did you watch the game? Seriously asking, not trying to be a jerk.

To answer your question about why we should care about Trey Flowers. The bottom line is we don't. We don't REALLY care about Trey Flowers or the Lions, but we do care about the state of the league. In that respect it was a sad, sad, showing and adds barrels of fuel to the fire for those conspiracy theorists who say the league is fixed. not a good look

Jets were called for PI on perfect coverage.

Probably a when not an if in regards to it costing us a game at some point. NFL has a serious officiating problem.

Kind of like when they changed the catch rule for the Super Bowl...

The hands to the face calls felt pretty deliberate. You can see the refs staring right at them. TWICE. You don’t just call that for no reason. That is premeditated.

The umpire violated the cardinal rule of officiating--he guessed on a call based on what he thought he saw. He then made the second call to justify the first call. He shouldn't ever be allowed on an NFL field again--which means he'll probably be in the league office next year.

Front page of NFL.Com - Packers win in dramatic walk off victory!

You wanna see hands to the face? Go back to the SB we lost to the Giants with the winning TD to P Buress.
The Olineman took a hold of Seymour’s facemack and jerked it skyward. No call.
Used to be photos of it on giantscheated.com when that site worked.
Lions fans will be bitter about this for a long time.
The worst was the noncall of PI vs. the Packers when the defender grabbed the upper body before the ball arrived.
That Super Bowl was blatantly fixed from start to finish.

They didn’t call 13 men in the field? That was the most embarrassing call of all then in terms of sheer incompetence.

Just to clarify for anyone that didn't watch the game, when the Lions had 12 men on the field as soon as they lined up they were immediately flagged for it but when the Packers lined up 13 they were given the opportunity to call a timeout.

Can you imagine the outcry if the officiating breaks that went the Eagles way in SB52 went the Patriots way instead? If we heard after the game that a James White TD catch (instead of one by Corey Clement) would have been ruled incomplete under the regular season rules, but the league implemented new rules for the SB that made it a catch. And that Tedy Bruschi (instead of Troy Vincent) sat with Al Riveron to help conduct the replay reviews. Arlen Specter would have returned from the dead to demand new Congressional investigations.

It’s been bad across the league.

Every year it seems to be a new team who is a victim of it. Yes, even the Patriots, who many seems to think have weekly checks mailed to the refs; they’ve been victims of poor officiating too.

not sure what the solution is; even if we made every call reviewable, human error would be there; plus do we really want 5 hour long games??

I love the motor on Flowers. Dude plays hard every down and was a great draft pick. Even though the Pats defense has been awesome, I miss having him here. Classic Patriots attitude and team-first mentality, awesome talent. Those were BS penalties.

I’d rank the Flowers sack on Ryan in SB51 as the second biggest “odds turnaround” play in all the SBs.

I did watch it.

So there was poor officiating. You guys, not to be a jerk here, are whining like three year olds. Was it different from any other game?

Haven't you guys figured it out yet? It isn't going to change until the owners want it to change. And if Kraft didn't make a stink about after 52, then we are all **** outta luck.

They just ratified a new contract with the refs... So.... What does that tell you

Disagree all you want, but don't mean I'm wrong

Why can't the league just listen to Belichick and make every call subject to a challenge?
It would be useless, just like challenging PI calls is turning out to be a joke this year.
