I’ll be happy if he’s 75% the blocker Allen was and averages a catch per game.

A blocking tight end/full back is really really needed. This seems to be exactly what this guy is. Cheap money, what isn't to like.

I hate to break it to some of you, but the elite blocking and pass catching tight ends are few and far between, especially ones who are available at this point in the season. Finding a good run blocking tight end is exactly what we need.

Remember when the Pats had Gronk and Bennett and Gronk and Allen on the roster...

We need a TE to set the edge in the run game and pick up rushers - badly

Too many times Izzo and LaCosse were blown up trying to do just that

What I should of said is first in this thread.McLaurin and Knox would look real good right now

he can help block in the run game and can be a Vrabel like wild card in the end zone nobody is covering.

Things change, some worse, but some better. Our TEs this season are trash, but our defense, especially the secondary, is outstanding. 2011 was the zenith for our TE production, with Gronk having his record breaking year and Hernandez also producing great numbers, but that was also the year we had the second worst pass defense in NFL history, up to that point at least.

It sucks, but you can't be great at every position every year.

Been saying this for 2 years. 2018 & 2019 drafts were loaded with excellent TE’s, not getting one in the top 4 rounds was a huge mistake (for the future). Not doubling up on a great receiver class in 2019 was a major mess up too. Hated trading up for NoPlay Williams instead of staying put and taking Metcalf and others.

At least he’s elite in the screen game

I don't understand why Bill couldn't have just known exactly which rookies would be performing well after 6 games and taken them instead??? I think he should be fired
