Should be in a thread of its own. Thanks for sharing.
I think most teams use them. Very helpful for b/u QB as you can imagine.

Excellent article by Phil Perry on how the Patriots prepare the wide receivers, especially Meyers and Olszewski. More "behind-the-scenes" information on the Patriots' coaching than you usually get. You'll love this @patfanken !

Thanks Mike, I just read this piece a few minutes before your comment. This is great stuff by Perry. I mean REAL reporting and informing your readers on things that aren't obvious. I wish there were more of these kinds of pieces.

BTW- speaking of Troy Brown. I guess his part time transition into coaching has become full time. That's a great thing. You would think the Pats might want to make more of big deal about it, or have some reporter at least ask him about it and things like, how is it like working with an old teammate like Mayo.

Quick bump as this is now its own thread. I just read this same article a little while ago and was going to post it, but found @Mike the Brit's post and figured I'd move it here instead

Were Mayo and Brown ever on the same squad? Mayo was drafted in 2008 and Troy's career ended with that muffed punt in the 2007 season.

That's definitely a different look at the team than we usually get! It's fun to see the obvious bonding between the two rookies trying to scale Mount Olympus, as well as the contrast between them as individuals. Jakobi comes off as more polished, well-spoken and careful, Gunner as the eager, wide-eyed country boy marveling at Jakobi's big brain. :)

"The reason [the Patriots offense] is hard is because it's a heavy load on your brain," Olszewski said. "That's why Jakobi is so good is because he's the smartest football player I've ever played with. We got here in training camp, we're all trying to learn one position and Jakobi is going from F to X to Z. I'm like, 'Dude, how are you learning this stuff?' "

I loved it. Me. I did.

So why didn't you @ me @Mike the Brit?

I'll tell you why - you're in the bag for Ken and his big money patsfans interests.
