Looking how other teams have played so far, the players coming off IR for the second half and the absolutely dominating defense I feel like we are trending towards an undefeated season.
By the last game of the season the Pats will have locked up the number one seed and the Fins will have locked up the number one draft pick. So Miami is theoretically possible, depending on how well Stidham plays.
As good as NE has been in this 18-year run, NE almost never sweeps the AFCE. In fact, I think the team only has something like 3-4 sweeps in its history, one of those coming in 2007, of course.
So no matter how optimistic people are, it is totally reasonable (and even likely) to expect a divisional loss.
- Away at Miami, our usual stinker (W)
- Away at Buffalo, early season away when we are still figuring things out; they showed to be a good defensive team prior (W)
Not seeing it this year, unless we decide to rest players with #1 seed in hand.
If we are to lose a divisional game this year, my money is on the last road game. Can't see us losing to Miami at home. The Bills? Maybe...but it will be late in the season and we might be in a neck to neck race for one of the BYEs.....
The Jets can play defense. And our D can shut down their offense..although I see Darnold being good enough to lead the Jets offense to maybe 13-17 points max.
