Who gives a crap about league findings or league investigations? Haven’t we already learnt yet how nonsense they are. If the police say there’s no case, it’s enough for me

Well that settles it then, I was unaware you were the final arbiter. Why the hell haven't you called Fruadger and straightened this out?

How can you not understand as pertains to AB and football teams in general and the Pats in particular the league's findings are the ONLY thing that matters?

I would love to have him back to watch the dance off AB could have vs Tyreek Hill in the AFC Championship game.

A lot of slick gyrations going on then.

Belichick already hedged the risk of bad behavior/suspension. Despite a lot of bidders for Brown, he was able to sign him to a heavily incentive laced deal based on cumulative season long production. So any way you slice it, besides releasing Brown, they would have been in good shape. If he goes on exempt list, they save money because he won’t hit incentives. If he additionally gets suspended, he is (unless an absurdly new precedent is set to overrule the standard of 4-6 games) back for the remainder of the regular season and postseason with less money owed due to missed games by league suspension.

Instead, Kraft releases him, totally wiping out the brilliant deal that Belichick made, and accelerating his signing bonus to hit all at once, crippling the 2019 cap space irreversibly.

Second TD of that game for Tyreek Hil!!! Doing cartwheels in the end zone while the crowd, commentators, and everyone else in the world calls him so exciting and electrifying!

The television will continue to go off when Bob the Buffoon grabs the mic after a big win by the Pats, as it has since 2015. What a fcking dumb sack of sht he is. Congrats on hiring the greatest coach of all-time, who is good enough to even overcome his owner as the worst of all-time when it comes to protecting his own team’s competitive interests. It’s so obvious that Brady, Belichick, and Myra are the real big 3 of the dynasty. This little man is a just a weak pushover. Go try to push your 18 game schedule and deny CTE, Bob...that’s your specialty after all.

Gordon absolutely let the team down last year with whatever he did. I’m quite shocked he was given a second chance.
Don't forget this year.

Chad Johnson 2.0

AB should get a warning or temp suspension like on Patsfans.

Never has a lifetime ban been issued on this board for a first offense.

If he had he’d be playing on NE right now, would be $4.5mil richer just from NE right now, wouldn’t have lost endorsements which took more millions out of his pocket, etc.

So yeah - paying the $1.6mil would have been an extremely wise business decision.

Not saying he is of High moral character, he may have other reasons for not paying for silence. Sometimes it’s not all about money.

Brown should have issues with the nfl and their so called investigation. You can’t keep someone from making a living based on allegations. This woman drops her case and says she will refile and she hasn’t done so yet. In terms of the painter you make your conclusion and that’s it.

Here's something that I don't see being discussed.

Before Brown can be signed by ANY team, the league will have to finish their investigation into the accuser's allegations. The league has heard from the accuser, but before that investigation can be finished it has to hear from Brown.
That’s not true. McCann specifically talked about that some time ago.

Players have NO right to be heard during the investigation, though they are obliged to cooperate if the league wants to interview them. So if the NFL wants to, it is allowed to complete the investigation and pronounce sentence without ever hearing from Brown.

However, once the sentence is given, if the player decides to take the sentence to arbitration THEN the player has the right to be heard.

Of course, as we all know, the arbitration for personal conduct matters is a total joke since either Goodell or a hand-picked today will be the arbitrator.

Is it just me, or does everyone picture the avatars as the actual poster?
QM to me is a cantankerous retired Naval captain.

Meh, I think it's situational. For instance while I could easily envisage QM as a my way or walk the plank way crusty captain I don't quite see you as a stadium.

you’re justifying extortion
Life sucks. Deal.

If he really is innocent he had two choices — pay the go away money or not.

I can totally understand him not wanting to. But it’s not a perfect world and the actual, very foreseeable at the time, facts clearly pointed to paying it being the course of action that would have put him far ahead of where he ended up.

Unfortunately for the Biffys and Venny's of the world they can't seem to reconcile the way they think things ought to be with the way they really are. Right now the league has done what it needs to in order to quietly box AB out. Meanwhile NFL 100 continues with minimal distraction from him. Business is business and in this, as in most, instance the Golden Rule remains He Who Has The Gold Makes The Rules. Under different circumstances maybe I could work up some eddies in the dust of rage over the "unfairness" of it but just as the realist in me knows AB has no one to blame but himself for any of this coming out, the cynic in me scoffs at how easy he has made it for the league.

It was from a PFT story that made it plain that the NFL had tried to get with Brown, but wasn't getting any cooperation. And like so much of what describes the NFL, they aren't going to go out of their way to get Brown to come in. If he doesn't come in, then they don't have to make any messy decisions, so they aren't going to chase him.

Still it's curious that Brown hasn't DEMANDED a meeting, so he can get past the Exempt list hurdle. Sorry I can't be more specific. Just too lazy to do a google search, and Brown doesn't deserve my energy. Let me know if you find any info to the contrary, but until you do, I'll stand by my recollection.
This story just rolled up on the newsfeed:

So it doesn't appear NFL has tried to interview him or is even interested in it.

Manny Sanders hurt.

Diggs blew up with 3 TDs today.

WR pickings are looking slim.

Sooo...as I stated, the NFL has effectively boxed him out. Nothing Earth shattering in that, so obvious most of us figured it out without a source. Is it 'right' per se? No, but don't hold the messenger responsible for the message, after all this isn't Sparta.

Lol dude, I said NFL was holding him out to be a pariah weeks ago. It was obvious when they issued the statement immediately after his release.

This was in response to Ken who said, AB refused to interview with the league and asked me to find evidence of the contrary.

I think it’s going to take a cold water splash in the face from an embarrassing loss, where the offense’s problems finally catch up to them, before some people come to terms with the stupidity of this decision. Brown is a superstar wide receiver, arguably the best of his generation, and took a sweetheart deal to play here. In the absence of clear evidence or arrests, you do whatever you can to protect your asset. 31 owners realize this. The 32nd one naively thinks he should be doing what’s in the best interest of the league and not his own team.

Why not? I have many similarities to Gillette:
We both have a large capacity for football.
We both have beer for our friends.( Though I don't charge them $20 for one cup).
My body's hard as concrete. Ok, maybe half-set concrete.
We're both the home of a winner. Ok, maybe Gillette more often than me.

Ahh, so when I respond directly to someone else it's fair game to twist a simple meaning but when you do it...ah...never mind
