Felger and Mazz

I feel bad when I say it, BUT the thing about Bertrand that drives me every more crazy than his faulty takes is the fact that the guy is morbidly obese and yet the station's major sponsor is a weight loss program.

When I see the simulcast on TV there is a picture of the sponsor's logo as a background. For the entire time I watch all I want to do is yell at the screen, "TURN the F*CK AROUND!!!!!!!!!!

I literally have to turn the channel after about 5 minutes because it's all I focus on. Christ, half the station has already been on the program and lost tons of weight INCLUDING the guy sitting next to him. Is he that thick, or does he simply like being unhealthily fat.

.....and now I feel bad for somehow fat shaming someone. ;)

The guy is distractingly fat, its tough to see.

Tough to take someone seriously if they can't even manage portion control.
I guess I should insert a smiley face now so as not to seem a complete d bag.

And Zolack.......I sense ratard :confused:with a hint of Tourrettes:mad:

Mark: So Zo, what did you think of that 4th down call?

Scott: They gave us ziti on the plane with a pesto sauce on the flight home last night.
Nice little side salad too....a little balsamic.
Brady's hair look great last night....all high and tight.
Nice job Gisele.
I smell farts
Yeah....missed Jacobi open in the corner....little curl pattern.....looks good in the white uni doesn't he.

The third guy in their studio....his primary purpose seems to be: Monitor and refocus Zolack

At 98.5, is Zo mandated to wear a helmet with his sunglasses? Liability concerns?

Yeah, imma need a citation on that. They haven't had any trouble selling homes on Nantucket for at least 50 years.
I've been on real estate 40 years, you may he too young to remember but it was a terrible market down there in the early 90s. Felger brings it up now and then how lucky he was to have the means to buy a place back then and the market was good for buyers.

Because this thread came up yesterday, I decided to listen to the show's open.

Felger's opening take: Brady is running sneaks at the goal line to pad his stats, and is basically telling the team that it can go screw itself, since he hates his weapons.

So he has a 12 year old writing his material.

I was driving back to Eastern Mass from Worcester yesterday and tuned in to 98.5, forgetting the time and that the Zolak show wasn't still on. So these two are talking about the whole thing where the Pats win like 80% of the games with the wind blowing, and they were looking at all these splits and no matter what you put in — indoors, outdoors, rain, snow, night, day, whatever — the Pats win 70-80 percent of the time. So the whole wind thing doesn't matter. So this is a good thing for the Patriots, right? This consistency across conditions etc.? This must be their point, right?

Nope.

It was all a setup for the wicked hot take that that consistency shows that Belichick knows about "every blade of grass" in every game, so how could he possibly not know ... the PSI of footballs. Good lord. Talk about lazy and contrived. I went back to the actual football talk on the other station.

Great job defining the formula.....especially what I highlighted above.

I find myself baffled at some of the crap they sling at the walls and Mazz sucked me in recently and I called in to set the Italian Hamster straight. He made some completely asinine statement about run scoring % after bunting runners over from 2nd to 3rd. His hot take was purely based on a nonsensical assumption that the success rate bunts is 100%.
I called in....took me one sentence to refute the boob's premise....he agreed his hot take had huge holes......and then Felger attacked me for not keeping quiet enough while he blathered on.
Funny thing, an hour later on Mazz's baseball show.....the Italian Hamster opened with the same just-refuted hot take.
My point: These guys just crank out filler and are too lazy to put real thought into their work. In this case, Mazz just stuck to his guns instead of adjusting on the fly. I was disappointed in this act of laziness given I do respect his baseball knowledge.
His adaptability....not so much.

It's not about being lazy. They do what they do to get clicks (calls) and, well, threads like this one.

The parasite reproduces.

I clicked there just now, hoping for pre-game... and they were still on, ragging on Belichick about Deflategate. No kidding.

The cat gets encouragement from the show, though...

poor kitty.

Don't waste your time and while you're at it, please don't ever create anymore threads related to that garbage radio show. Stopped watching about 4 years ago because I couldn't stomach the constant choreographed contrarian puppet show.

These guys and their tribe are a "rocking chair" test question: when you are sitting on your retirement porch, thinking back about how you spent your life...

Also, there's an ancient Buddhist truth that when a Boston sports fan dies, the hours he listened to sports radio is contrasted to the hours he listened to educational or current events radio or podcasts. The ratio determines the nature of the next lifetime.

Felger is knowingly disengenuous (shocker) when he blames the oline problems strictly on the coach/gm. Felger mentions the Wynn Injury as a factor, but fails, at least today, to mention the Andrews injury (and it's associated domino effect), the 2 (iirc) retirees of off linemen in camp who were expected to contribute/start, AND....NO ONE mentions the Antonio Garcia fiasco. Guy was a third Rd pick, expected to apprentice behind Solder...and then we have the Cajuste situation... seriously, what is it with this team and draftee injuries and veteran camp retirements...

I listened 1 day earlier this year when the season started. They spent the whole day talking about how easy the AFCE was, I had to turn it off, it came across to bitter and whiney. I tuned in a couple of hours later and Felger was still rambling "GAWD it's just so easy, every year!" on and on and on, they had sound effects, bells whistles Mazz agreed with everything of course.

I tune in once in a great while nd quickly tune out it's just not for me. Sounds like stuff you'd here from some out of market show catering to a salty fanbase, maybe in Indy, Pittsburg or NYJ.

Felgirl an Spaz are playing the old Ron Borges and Shaughnessy role to infuriate fans and generate callers. Don't fall for it.

I listen to these guys all the time and i don’t think that’s fair at all. I can’t stand Borgess or Shank. I’ll grant you that Maz is an idiot, even on baseball, but Felger is actually very fair. The guy practically worships Belichick & is picking the Pats to win the Super Bowl. Too many fans here are looking for blatant homerism, which is mind numbingly boring and is actually unhealthy for the team.

Besides, I’m old enough to remember when Felger almost got in a fist fight with Borgess on a sports Final with Bob Lobel over the Brady/Bledsoe controversy in 2001. Guess which side Borgess was on...
