Gronk alone makes it a winner. He was as close to a difference maker towards winning championships as any non quarterback in a generation.

Interestingly it doesn't seem Flowers is having a good year in Detroit.
He’s not, Detroit media only needed two weeks to question his slow start and his contract.

Allowing him to walk was still the right move, but I was going around here saying Bennett would easily replace him.

Brady gets absolutely destroyed if an inexperienced pass blocker misses that blitz pickup on the one playaction play last night. Yes, it can get A LOT worse.

Sony did a great job picking up that blitz. Not ready to say Harris can't do the job without at least giving him a shot though.

Ok someone disagreed with Sony's great block ?

not how it works......just because you have a good pick doesn't mean that the rest should suck

I've always felt Edelman was more a factor in winning Super Bowls then Gronk (Edelman was not a second rounder so it doesn't count)...but that was a huge catch by Gronk in LIII.

Harris was excellent at picking up the blitz at Alabama.

None of us knows why Harris is being sidelined.

It certainly makes sense to us that he be active along with Michel, White and Bolden.

I think you would agree the NFL and the NEP offense is a bit more complex to handle.

Greg Bedard is really pushing the Michael Bennett is on his way out theory also. Bennett only had 11 snaps yesterday and most were in garbage time.

overreaction.

Totally agree. My issue is when people say that so and so cant do the job even though they never had a chance. I know people say that all the time...even for slow 6th round QB's....but at least give the guy a chance.

Bennett was asked about his playing time following Thursday's game and he appears miffed.

"I don’t know what’s happening,” Bennett told Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal. “You have to ask Bill (Belichick). I wish I knew. If I had a better answer, I would tell you. You’ve got to ask them, man. I’m just trying to do what they ask me to do."

On Bennett that response sound very Patriot-like to me.o_O

Not sure what is going on. IMO I think its more about Sony, Burk and Bolden getting the reps because they think they know more/can do more in the offense (running, catching, blocking, etc) and on STs and less about him.

I think its pretty obvious hes not thrilled with his playing time.

I believe its a situation that bears watching.

With Burkhead injured...it seemed like a good opportunity to see if Harris is a stiff or not. His situation has been odd since the day he was drafted.

What's his $$$$$$ like I would love to swing a Trade for a player making comparable $$$$$$.

He might just royally suck at STs. As a reserve thats the easiest way to be left off the GD roster.

I think if hes cut they save~ $4.5m (might be less) in 2019 w a $2m charge and in 2020 $2m charge and $8.5m in savings...

I've taken the bait on the Bennett story. It has the feel of a guy BB might trade or cut loose. I've wanted him on the Pats since we fell short of signing him in 2012 (or maybe it was 2013?).

As an out of market fan, I usually catch the games on replay on game pass and paid special attention to Bennett's use. He drew a double that freed up Van Noy on the game sealer in Buffalo. He abused the Skins guard in his limited use last week (drew a holding at the once inch line). He broke through to get half a sack yesterday doing a similar thing. To me, he looks like he's still got it and is decently healthy. I assume they value Calhoun's mobility on the edge more (to run down a QB who gets out), but I've seen enough of him playing patty cake with the tackle.

you save about 2.8 million.

If we trade for OJ Howard that way I will support it

...and Calhoun is a core STer.

With that said his snaps aren't overwhelmingly more than Bennett's either (teens since Week 1)
