He has more of a Jerry Lewis feel to me.
It's hard to say without seeing the physical side of his act...the pratfalls, the funny faces and voices. But I could be convinced.

74 was tough

"The Pats stunned the Super Bowl Champion Miami Dolphins in Week 1 at Schaffer Stadium. The Pats went on to win their first five games on their way to a 6–1 start. However, they struggled in the second half, winning only one game before finishing with a 7–7 record."

That was they year Young Shmessy became a Patriots fan. The magic moment was the game against the Vikings in the old Metropolitan Stadium in Minnesota. This was when, even though they didn't win a SB that year, they were truly the best team in the NFL - the Purple People Eaters. I think the Pats went out there for either the 3rd or 4th game undefeated at the time and most everybody said they were a mirage (turned out they were and finished 7-7). But for one brief shining moment they beat the freaking Vikings in their building when TE Bob Windsor sacrificed the rest of his career to twist his knee into an ACL tear (they couldn't fix those things back then) in the end zone to win the game in the last minute. He never was heard from again.......

.

Not as bad as I will feel when we're 6-0

2011 d was garbage. They nearly blew the game in the afc title game against Baltimore. We were lucky to beat Baltimore that year. 2017 D was garbage too. Let Bortles make big plays in Gillette and hence got killed by Foltz in the SB. Every other SB D was quality with last years group finally putting it together at the end of the season which lead to greatness so far this season.
Thing is, the 2011 Defense played well in the SB all things considered. Might've been their best game.

"Young Shmessy".............. almost deserves a script covering the background and accession of your character

I recall even the vaunted early 2000's D were more of a "Bend dont Break" while this one here is more of a "Crush kill Destroy"...

Yeah losing your left tackle is nothing... Same with right tackle for one game... Or losing develin. Ab was a walk in the park. I think you're taking it for granted. It's not easy winning in this league
I’m talking about on the field. Every team has injuries.

2019 taking a beating in the poll. Any reasons why? Why have a sick D?

F***ing Chris Harper

And I'd say the buffalo game was a dog fight
Leading wire to wire with a dominating defense isn’t my idea of adversity.
But that’s fine you can’t think whatever you want.

Oh Andy the contrarian... Better be careful.. you might come off as a spoiled pats millennial

I totally remember that. And when I first joined Pats Fans I tried using “Bob Windsor” as a user name but had some sort of tech glitch ... so I just used my real name instead.

How can we think much of anything right now other than it's nice to be 5-0 and defeating teams by an average of 24.2 points?

All the evidence is inconclusive as whether to celebrate or hide under the desk in trepidation. We barely beat a division rival in an ugly grudge match. But that rival is now 4-1. In the rest of the games, we won in a convincing fashion. But those teams have a combined 1-18 record so let's not start prepping the Rose Bowl parade just yet.

The offensive line has been poor and this has caused struggles in both the passing and running game. Yet, at the same time, the silver lining is that Brady has looked great in stretches where he gets good protection. In addition, the receivers have been dinged up but can get healthy. The kicking game is hanging on by a thread. But the defense is elite.

The point is that the jury is about as out as is humanly possible. Let's stop trying to make anything of the tea leaves other than we're 5-0 and in the hunt for the #1. The alternative is investing in more Tums since anyone will develop an ulcer coming up with doomsday scenarios this early in the season.
