He reportedly has cleared out his locker according to Ryan Hannable...

Even at 38 I thought he could be sneaky productive in this offense. On the plus side this frees up almost 2 million in cap space.

So...that frees up 84? Hmmm

Deion coming home?

Possibly. I can’t really think of one other guy who has played here recently that was known for that number. Anyone got any ideas?

Kind of shocked by this. I believe he's more capable of helping this year's offense than LaCosse or Izzo but I'm not getting paid to make those calls.

He was suspended the first 4 games for hormone(PED) usage wasn't he? So he did it to just keep a jacked look? I understand that :) but why go through the suspension in the first place? Why not just hang the damn cleats up before he was officially suspended versus taking a suspension then hanging the cleats up?
Urgh! Someone restart the damn 'Gronk will be back' thread! :)

On the hand, I think this is sad. I love the guy. He is a class act. He must have had a poor practice last week so that his cap hit could not be justified. On the other hand, it gives tiny breathing space under the cap to make a move. I think Bill is wheeling and dealing behind scenes. That does not mean a move is coming, but he is trying.

That is a lot of assumptions for breaking news. He hung up his cleats? It was his choice? Huh?

Sounds like he was cut.

Watson has explained that he started doctor-prescribed hormone treatments to help with healing his body after announcing his retirement. He assumed his PED-banned days were over. Then the Patriots talked him out of retiring, and he warned them of the situation: Benjamin Watson explains why he knowingly took a banned substance

This frees up $2 million in space. Perhaps Bill is trying to trade for a wide receiver. Also, who else is going to claim Watson? If the Pats make a trade they can probably sign him back.

One of the truly good guys in the league. Tough business. Wishing him all the best, and if he wants to catch on somewhere else, I hope he does.

I called this
And was roasted for it the funds will be used with other cap finds to bring a Emanual Sanders AJ Green or Stephon Diggs

I’m looking at players still on rookie contracts for possible trades. A Wr/TE pairing I’m warming up to is Anthony Miller and Austin Hooper. Cap hits right around 4 combined. You got Robinson and Gabriel there, question is would Chicago give up on miller for a mid round pick?
