What are your thoughts on the Pats game plan against the Chiefs? (Don't say we are on to NYG. This is just fun I am not on the coaching staff or team as far as you know)

First of all, the Colts really dominated that game. Time of possession was like 38 to 22 minutes.

The Chiefs could not stop the Colts run game, yet when the Colts threw, other than one interception inside the Chiefs 5, they did fine.

At times in that game I was thinking more about how strong the Colts looked rather than the other way.

Now the Chiefs were hurt, and I am not sure how bad Mahomes ankle is but I did notice a major drop off after the second bang to his ankle when he limped off the field.

He lost his pocket escapability and though he still made some sick side arms slings down the field, overall he seemed less awe inducing without as much scrambling.

It made me wonder if that is such a huge part of his game that when limited it is huge problem for them. And that is the kind of thing BB and this D could force (contain him in the pocket at least more) even if he his health through game plan and scheme.

In the first half that one TD where he escaped the pocket, ran backwards and in circles for like 20 yards then slinged a side arm TD was amazing.

But the Colts dominated them. I know our competition has been weak, but our D and coaching must be superior to the Colts by miles. (Though I think Reich is good)

We have not run great this year (at least that is how it feels to me I have not dove into the stats). We ran on them in the AFCCG. Will we use the blue print the Colts showed. 13 points at home for the Chiefs under Mahomes is very unprecedented. They have score less than 25 with Mahomes at QB since he started.

Anyway getting them their first loss happened way sooner than I thought it would. I should have realized the Lions were close too. It will be interesting to continue watching them whoever they play. Suddenly the Raiders are 1 game out and from I hear the Broncos looked "impressive" (relative to themselves of course)

PS> Chiefs Planet board was quite fun last night.

Chiefs are a mess right now. Their defense is ravaged with injuries and if Mahomes’ ankle isn’t 100% he’s in big trouble. The Colts played them well even before that though. Team speed on defense gives that offense trouble and we have that speed.

Ironically I was just looking through the standings etc, and it hit me that I need to start scoreboard watching the Bills more than anyone else!

All in all put me down for more impressed by the Colts than down on the Chiefs after last night. Chiefs are a good team, no doubt, but the league’s takeaway from that game should “damn the Colts might be really good.” They came into Arrowhead undermanned on D, hit the Chiefs in the mouth, and didn’t let up. Their OL was straight up punishing the Chiefs every single play. Their two lead DTs didn’t leave the game late by coincidence. Sure, Golden Boy hurt his ankle, but Kelce was already whining like a ***** in the 2nd quarter from the Colts 3rd string DBs beating up on him. Not so fun being the next Gronk is it ya punk?

Gameplan wise...I don’t think what the Colts did was, conceptually, that different from what NE did going in there for the AFCCG. Run. The. Ball. Take a couple shots, keep big plays in front of you, be physical on D. The lack of Hill, of any running game by KC, and Mahomes ankle prevented the type of 2nd half comeback we saw in January.

Our OL cannot do what Indy’s did last night. Our offense, right now, can’t win the kind of shootout that last seasons regular season KC game was...but maybe neither can the Chiefs. Our D can be even better than the Colts was, and our passing game can be more overwhelming. So the coaches will have to figure out something like that. They got this. But hats off to the Colts, that was an impressive win for them.

The Colts performance and plan last night was one of the most enjoyable non-Pats performance I have seen this year. I just liked they want they pounded the Chiefs and out willed them.

And it is not like that was an unimportant loss for the Chiefs. Home game to an AFC division leader which now has tie breaker over them. The last two weeks showed that many games that were automatic W's for the Chiefs in my mind may be way more interesting now.

The loss also adds a little perspective to the Lions game, which they won in the last seconds.

I don't buy the Colts as a serious team at all.

Their defense is not good.

They have a good coach and good OL, that's it.

The lack of Hill
right. And in the AFCCG game our D TOOK Hill out of the game. And our D is greatly improved. I can see Collins wrecking them by spying on Mahomes. (Though in reality I have no idea if "spying" works. I only know football strictly as a lifelong fan. I talk a lot of **** as you may know)

Indy basically copied the Pats and the Lions. Run the ball, play man and pressure Mahomes. If you can do that, you have a shot. A hobbling Mahomes also helps!

Last night didn't surprise me, had the Colts winning. Felt like the classic Andy Reid home primetime loss. Colts got caught looking ahead last week to this game. Man is this team poised.

They talked about Mahomes non stop, while Brissett has quietly had a great season and was tied with Mahomes in touchdowns coming into the game.

The Colts "might" raise a banner for last night.

They should also raise a "Sucked With Luck" banner imho

I'm struggling in the picks department lol
Top 1% in ESPN picking against the spread contest here lol, I'm on a miraculous run right now. Some of it is luck, these first few weeks can be weird.

Can't make conclusions off one game. But obviously Mahome Boy will need to be healthy for them to have a chance. They desperately need Ramsey. Otherwise they are in a pinch.

I think Frank Reich wore out film of Pats-Chiefs AFC Championship game, and copied our gameplan.

Next question?

Well I am picking who I think will win. I even change my picks some times. So I guess I svck lol

That alone puts them ahead of most teams in this league. And Brissett is playing/managing the game better than most QBs too.
Not sure I take them as a serious threat yet either but definitely something to monitor as they seem like they could be continuing to improve.

Next question?
hmm ok. Let me think.

Is it true that electrons orbit the atomic nucleus, traveling from point a in real space and time, to point b in real space and time, WITHOUT actually traveling through the space between the two points? I believe that theory is based on a sci fi show from the 80s "Quantom Leap"
