NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION Thursday night football: Rams of Los Angeles vs Seattle Blinding Green Lights

Zeuerlein needs to sit a game !

I saw what you did there. :D

Those Seattle uniforms looked like thy started out with plain white unis, then dumped them in a vat with a case of yellow highlighters.
I'm surprised folks weren't complaining of retinal burns.
must be same co. that churn out those U of O unis

I could see this being a better game than we’d have thought a week or two ago, particularly when you factor in the past 6 quarters of Patriots offense.

It is also not like they are playing any good defense until the BYE. So just through that alone the offense will look better. With reinforcements coming in past the BYE off IR things should hopefully stabilise exactly in time for the bigger games.

The only way I see the team not going undefeated into the BYE is through turnovers.

Wilson could give Mahomes a serious run this season. I am beyond impressed with this guy.

Wilson 12 TD 0 interceptions

I remember saying on draft night that Wilson would have the better NFL career over Luck. I hate what happened to Luck though, especially those sorry so-called fans booing him.

Wilson's the MVP at the quarter pole, hands down.

I just noticed something about the Seahawks. They are leading the league in passing TDs, but only have 3 rushing TDs. Wilson is nothing but a stat-whore. I don't know if they got greedy in SB 49 and decided to throw at the goalline just to give Wilson the SB-MVP. Would not surprise me one bit if Wilson told his OC to call a pass play in that situation.

That makes no sense.

Yeah but Mahomie's got the buzz playing with a stacked deck and Russ doing it with less is old news. Plus, ya know, Patty boy got the tourch and all

It's not that hard to figure out. I may be wrong but it's just what I noticed. Not saying that Lynch would have scored in SB49. I'm just talking about the play call itself may have been more attuned to what Wilson likes.

Conspiracy theories about the end of the Seahawk/Pats Super Bowl are so effing weird to me. Like "The NFL didn't want Marshawn Lynch to be the Super Bowl MVP! They made them pass at the one!" Really? They called a play, it didn't work out. Butler made an otherworldly play. Oh well. If they called a fade which fell incomplete and then failed to punch it in the next two plays, are we still arguing about this? If they give it to Marshawn and he loses 3 and they fail, are we pillorying Carroll for being too predictable? It's weird how sure everyone is about what would have happened if they did the other thing.

the runner in this game just got hit in the head by weddle!!!! where's the outrage????

I'd love a screen shot of it so I could post it in places where they're still going on about the Allen hit.

I have been pointing out the exact same thing about Wilson (and Rodgers) for years. Both have QB ratings and stats that are way out of whack with the expected PPG from the offense, and consequently their winning percentage. Both of them take a lot of negative plays by bailing on the pocket way too early and the offensive line takes the blame for sacks...these plays are “hidden” from the QB rating formula but show up in the bottom line offensive totals.

That said, Wilson is playing at the top of his game right now, and I think even with the negative tendencies he is still a top quarterback so far, but I also agree that in general his stats are overrated and he is a huge stat padder. It was really on display last year in the playoffs when he was totally ineffective for about 57 minutes, then racked up a ton of garbage yards/TD passes, and somehow after the game he has a sparkling stat line and the fingers were pointed elsewhere. Wilson and Rodgers both seem to always end up on high end of the passer rating formula, even when the offense is the clear reason for a loss.

Football is interesting when both teams score points.

Thanks, I deleted my original post because people didn't seem to understand what I was getting at. Wilson is a great QB, no doubt. That was never in debate. However, the only reason I made my comment was because I'm playing this guy in fantasy football who has Wilson as his QB and noticed that every time the Seahawks were in the red zone Wilson was slinging it instead of handing it off to his RBs (for example on a 1st and 10). Now, if your running game is weak, I can understand why you would do that. But Chris Carson was able to rip off 126 yards on 26 carries last night, so he was very effective. Then I looked at the Seahawks season stats - 12 passing TDs, while their top 3 RBs of Carson, Penny, and Prosise had a combined total of 3 rushing TDs. This leads me to believe that the Seahawks are just throwing the ball quite a bit in the red zone. They are a top 10 rushing team (yards/game) but their RBs only have 3 rushing TDs? My conclusion (perhaps wrong) was that Wilson is padding his stats.

yea kinda disagree here. Wilson plays on a run first team (at least last few years), with no solid pass blocking. He makes way better passes than Rodgers IMO. Rodgers has had his stats padded by his draw them offsides and take a deep shot.

all QB padded their stats when they're down big in an off game. we just have the luxury of never really being down big

And this is exactly why people argue that Brady's stats are more impressive than other quarterbacks. He gets basically no free garbage time stats, and oftentimes the second half is about ball control and conservative field position battles. It's extremely rare to see him throwing 2 TDs and hitting 400 yards late in games while down by 20+ points.

Wilson's game last night was one of the best I've seen from him. (Yet, it should have been a loss.) He was so incredibly in charge and elusive... at times it seemed like a bad college game or even high school... crazily eludes till one of his fast but not disciplined receivers, finally gets separation--and boom 30 yards or a touchdown. "Hey, will one of you damn speedsters break away... I've bought you 10 damn seconds with my speed where to f is yours?"
