It's really hard to like this move unless it is strictly for ST. And even then I have trouble with it.
From what I saw, Richards simply does not have the athletic ability to be competitive.
BB knows far more about talent and the game than I ever will but this is a real head-scratcher.
I’m thinking it is for ST, solely. For one, Richards SUCKS and the defense is loaded. Hard to see him seeing the light of day out there unless there is a rash of injuries because of the amount of talent ahead of him couple with the fact that he’s IMMEDIATELY a liability that opposing QBs specifically target when he’s on the field.

Dude is awe...........nope, I just can't

I hope you’re right. But I can see him getting some reps on defense when we’re in the nickel. And bad things are likely to ensue. I agree with your opinion of his abilities, specifically tackling in the open field.

He’s Adam Sandler’s bad water boy.

Why would he? Does Slater get reps? Or Ebner?

Why did he play defense at all the last time he was here? But he did, alas.

It’s only a matter of time before Eric Rowe is cut and returns to the Pats.

Jordan Richards is right up there with the boogie man, Lucifer and Michael Myers. He should be banished to cleaveland forever

Wait I thought this title was a joke or from 4 years ago.

He SUCKS. Immediately cut. He has zero place on the Patriots defense ever. QB's salivate when he's on the field. Slow, can't follow his man, bad awareness, basically totally useless on defense.

.

The Pats kickoff return coverage has stunk. This move is to try to help that. Richards won’t play any more on D than Ebner will/would unless a barrage of injuries occur.

For his sake I hope Jordan doesn’t follow this site :( We mean.

We're honest. People aren't making this stuff up to trash the guy. He's that bad defensively.

Is this BB sticking it to Brady? Brady makes noise about Brown, BB says "pound sand, we run the show." Cuts AB at Kraft's behest then goes out and signs a guy who cost Brady a SB.

Is Richards paying the Pats? Is it some weird loophole to gain cap space by holding onto a defense destroyer? This guy tackles more of his teammates than he does ball carriers.

They might see an opportunity to use him when Chung gets suspended, but I think ST’s will be his primary role.

Isn’t Richards the one who kept getting torched in SB 52?

The fear is that BB has him playing meaningful snaps on defense. This dude, Rowe, and Bademosi single handedly lost SB 52.

If only Malcolm Butler hadn’t been injured. :(

Naaahhhhh.....he’s probably not a bad guy....he’s a festering oozing sore when it comes to football, however.....you’ve taken doxycycline for years to make it go away, fart once, and it comes right back

When this news broke yesterday I went back and looked for the stats of those three from the Super Bowl.

Foles was something like 6/7 for 140 against them on just third downs.

Ya see, what had happened was

*Looks at train tracks*

"Hello, old friend"

His inability to push JuJu out of bounds was something I’ll never forget.

“Mean” and “honest” are not mutually exclusive
