Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Bills

I just wanted to come in here and say Jamie Collins is a terrifying athlete. I mean like, he's in a league of the top, all-around complete athletes. A league of athletes that, of all professional sports, average the highest vertical. And even then, his leap over the offensive line, without the running start this time, was insane. I bet a decent amount of the players on the field, if not most, said "Wow, I've never seen that before."

Dude is crazy. Hope he and Bill can keep up the rapport so we don't ship him off to Siberia for a 10th round pick.

WOW.. You just pulled a whole bunch of stuff out of your arse there. In fact, your entire post is a pile of turds.

Neither Harrison nor Dillion were accused of Domestic Violence or rape while with the Patriots.

As for Brown, yes, there were threats made against the Woman's family. You claiming otherwise moves you from plain ignorant to being friggin despicable.
Nice try at moving the goal posts by adding "while with the Patriots".

It is great to have Collins back

Not hiding it but still not 100% from the calf injury. I'm thinking it's worse than is being let on.
Wouldn't surprise...He did not look good moving around yesterday, beginning with the INT in the EZ...This offense looked old, slow, hurt, and under-talented...thank Ganja for the Deadskins.

Our center keeps messing up the protection calls

Is the "Huddle and Line Microphone" option like All-22 and where can I get it? Or in other parlance, how do you know the protection calls were "messed up"?

I'm not saying they weren't, but the other options available to explain the OL play such as poor technique, lack of time together to build cohesion, and the Bills players executing their gameplan (same as giving credit to the Pats defense for what they did to Allen) likely contributed as well.

I'm not defending the OL - they didn't play well, but it's a little weird to definitively call out an aspect none of us have any clue as to whether or not it played a role and to what extent.

It seems like just weeks ago when the Ravens were 2-0 and on their way to a certain Super Bowl win, with their ****y coach bragging about how he built a team capable of beating Miami and Arizona.

Don't forget those saying last week that the Patriots franchise is DOOOOOOOOMED for passing on Jackson as the next "franchise QB".

It's fair to say that Gilmour was our worst DB (not including Terry Foster Brooks) yesterday, and Bentley our worst overall defender. Still don't know what others see in this guy.

Brown is easily their best receiver. He’s very fast, runs tight routes, has good hands and trained with Larry Fitzgerald. SG had him without help most of the game. He had 5 catches for 69 yards, good but not great.

Seemed like Bentley has regressed. Might have more responsibility and that's slowed him down some

On the Hyde INT, DaBruinz, it looks as though Meyers was the principal target after Brady looked off to the left, but the rookie stopped his route running.

I think he may have had the deer in the headlights behavior. Anyone have a clip of that play? Really bad by Brady.

No, Brady was trying to squeeze it into Edelman behind. If you want to "blame" Meyers for anything, it is pushing Hyde into the path of the throw, but at the time the ball hadn't come out yet and he was trying to give Tom a window.

The D was great but certainly room for criticism. Run D seemed weakened by High out And I thought Gilly was so-so.

Now they are allowing almost a touchdown a game....sheesh

This. Unbelievable that some disagreed with this. Gilmore was not good at all and it was painfully obvious. Brown torched him at times.

Whatever. Overall the defense was very, very good. Can't be great every week...

Quick show of hands, who's still fuming that we "wasted" a pick on a punter?

Bailey saved our bacon a couple of times with some really good punts. That's for sure. He's been as great as Gost has been mediocre. :p

That long run was a blatant hold...the OL had our DT behind the shoulder blade. With all the flags they threw hard to explained how they missed that one

The long run also saw JC Jackson go for a shot instead of wrapping up. Rather than make the tackle, he knocked Gore out of the path of the awaiting LB.

Upside: maybe BB still gets his "we're on to Cincinnati" moment with the team (at least the offense) but the Pats still get the W in the standings.

He plays straight man coverage with no help against the opponent’s best WR. That allows the rest of the defense to roll into so many different iterations. Even when he’s getting beat in coverage, he’s still the most important defender on the field. No doubt the Patriots lose that game without Gilmore.

Meyers wasn't the primary target. Edelman who was behind him was.. Not sure what more you could want of Meyers who ran to the spot he was supposed to be but had Hyde on him.

As I said, had Brady faked it to Edelman, Hyde likely jumps that and then Brady has Meyers right there..

Claiming that Gilmore "wasn't good at all" is a joke. If it wasn't for Gilmore, Brown would have blown the game wide open several times. The 18 yard slant and the 28 yard Go were damn good plays by Brown. Ty Law would have been beat... Those were the "big" plays by bronw.. And accounted for 46 of the 69 yards. The other 3 catches for 23 yards were MEH..

I'd say you are not giving Brown enough credit.

It's not as if the offensive struggles were tough to spot in this Bills game:

  1. Edelman hurt and not playing well
  2. Gordon hurt and playing like garbage
  3. Dorsett being relied on to beat double and/or 1+1 coverage
  4. Meyers useless as tits on a boar
  5. Izzo useless as tits on an earthworm
  6. LaCosse hurt and useless
  7. An OL struggling both individually and as a unit
  8. Michel not able to function behind that OL
  9. White not getting enough separation on his down field routes
  10. Burkhead banged up
  11. Jakob not getting it done
  12. Brady hurt and bailing out of plays early because of the line issues
