2019 draft retrospective and notes on 2020

2011? Brady looked that frustrated as recently as this time last year, especially while 11 was suspended and before JG arrived

The lack of a power run game may hold this team back from the ultimate goal, man does this team miss 87, JD, and any presence at TE

I'm also excited for Harry to (hopefully) return, can only return two of Harry, Wynn, and Devlin unfortunately, either of them would help

And agreed, early as hell, but I'm not too fond of this TE class...I wanted AJ Brown and Irv Smith last spring, but accepted Harry and Williams

Man would Brown and Smith look swell in NE right now

And yes, Knox looks like a baller

I messed up my years, I meant 2013, but the point remains.

I would love a top 100 pick burner this draft as well. Wouldn’t even mind another 1st being spent on the receiver position, depending on what we do with Gordon.

Way too early to speculate, but have a feeling JG won't be too expensive and has a preference for NE...Hopefully Harry is a success as Edelman ages

Curious how the team's finances will be, handful of retirements coming up in the next 2-3 years with Brady, Edelman, Bennett, Watson, D-Mac, maybe 54

Have quite a few priorities in Thuney, KVN, and Collins

Not drafting a TE is turning out to be a collosal mistake.

From today in my WR thread
"I just came here to post something but swore I responded to this. Obviously I didn't. Big fan of Hamler. Actually think he'll be on our board if he comes out.

Big point though ... We absolutely, positively have to replace Edleman. We're not finding another Gronk (please don't ever compare anyone to the GOAT please/thank you) but we absolutely (sorry twice now, I'm a dumb city kid) have to replace Jules.

Its time.. We have to. Not retiring, cutting etc but we need the next in line on the roster. Losing him, those routes/concepts, volume etc kills us to where its painfully obvious on the field. Might not be able to find another as tough, w the same drive but there's no shortage of guys who can do the job & do it well.

Again this isn't an indictment on Jules. I want him on the team next year ... to do what all good solders do. Teach & help their replacements to take over & inevitably push them out a job. Maybe he has that Brady mentality where hes going out on his shield. Either way we need another WR that can fulfill that role going foward. The bar set very high considering what 11 has accomplished."

Bill wants experience & dependability at WR/TE imo but current circumstances might not agree.

What is the consensus on Chase Young DE/LB from Ohio State? Is there any chance he could be in our range. All i'm seeing so far is he's projected first round.

Sadly, He could go 1st overall

No.

So who wants to put betting odds on the Pats drafting Hot Rod Blankenship?

If he’s not a Pat by the end of the 3rd round, I’ll be shocked.

One of the first guys I brought up as a PTP. Not having that year he did in 2018 from a statistical standpoint but his play hasnt dropped off a bit imo. Big fan.

Oh jeez saw Blankenship & my feelings started buzzing. Thought we were given out nicknames already.

Not sure about that early, but all for it...best K prospect since Aguayo

So we’re 5 weeks into the season what would we all say our biggest needs are?

Currently for me I’m going;
OT
S(purely on age)
WR/TE
DT/NT

Reason I haven’t listed LB is because we don’t know what’s happening with KVN and Jamie

every position except running back

Yup, taking in ages, contracts, and holes into consideration, just about every level on the roster can use a youth/talent infusion with RB seeming the most set with Sony, White, Rex, Harris, and possibly Bolden all under contract next year

God do I love Bolden
