Yes, the blame should be placed on Kraft for AB's release as it was his decision (according to some). The action that undoubtedly led to AB's release is of his own doing. I am not defending AB's actions but knowing what I know now I do not see what benefit was provided to the Patriots upon AB's release. Kraft is to blame for the decision and AB is to blame for Kraft having to make that decision.
Belichick released him

Well for starters, his social media posting was less impulsive while as a Pat. His interviews became textbook ‘Patriot Way’. He didnt ***** about not getting number 84. Was a hard worker by all accounts in practice. Didnt complain about being on a snap count in Miami while learning the offense.

Id say those are all desirable characteristics. His issue is how he deals with perceived slights especially socially. Were the texts dumb? I think they absolutely were. Suspension worthy? Id say yes if you consider that as textbook harrassment.

How do we define what is ‘best for the team’ ultimately? If you ask me, Kraft was more concerned with the growing PR storm, moreso than anything legal. But that’s just me. If the Chiefs could extend Hill in spite of the perceived things he’s accused of doing, then why release AB at the moment he did other than what looks to be a failed attempt at saving $9m? Seems to me thats whats best for Kraft’s bank account more than whats actually best for the team.

You're ignoring the Patriots history when it comes to Domestic Violence and Violence against women.

Not only did AB text the civil suit accuser, but he supposedly did so AFTER he'd been told not to. Then you had the additional rape accusation(s) come out. That was enough for Kraft to cut ties. And it's not the first time he's done it as I mentioned in my other post.

The Patriots have pulled the trigger cutting ties in these sorts of cases rather quickly in the past. It shouldn't have surprised anyone after the other accusations hit.

I'm still sitting here stunned at the hot take from a supposed Patriots fan that James White is nothing special. Go post that one on football Twitter or something and see how well it holds up. We really are spoiled rotten.

Would a real Patriots fan sleep through Super Bowl 51?

Oh Im aware, I wasnt surprised. On one hand I get the side who support cutting him. Totally get it. The texts were stupid and unnecessary. Especially with the spotlight (right or wrong) on him.

A tough situation all around as Brady would say. My opinion is also influenced in this particular instance by Belichick’a supposed feelings on keeping or releasing AB.

Go Pats.

That’s true about most of the plays they ran.
Ok well the question was why in the world would we run that play after it didn’t work once.

he did not text the civil suit accuser

Yeah, I get that.

This is the same stuff we heard last year when they LOST to the Lions and Titans.

This turned into an AB thread.

Then he put his right foot down...
You missed the point. The defender, who was out of bounds, also had his hands on the ball before that right foot came down, making he ball out of bounds.

defense is good, but I will not get excited to we play some tough offenses..we have played garbage so far so stats are meaningless.

Sniff test says this defense is elite from front to back. Phuck the stats. With an average D the Pats lose today

Unfortunately this team has a lot of fans that sit and wait for something to go badly and then proclaim the team is broken and they will suck at whatever went wrong for ever to come.

Despite the fact that we have a 20 year history of problems consistently being corrected.

Oh well I guess misery makes some people happy.

I’m just loving that the best possible thing that this team could have done so far I’d be 4-0 and that’s what they are.
I’ll leave the disappointment of winning to others.

What do you not understand.

The blame for sending those texts lies with AB.

The blame for completely overreacting and release him and denying us his services lies with Kraft.

What part is hard to understand.

Imagine Kraft releases Jackson tomorrow for the helmet to helmet hit since some sponsor threatened to pull out if he didn't. I can yap all about how while Jackson's hit was helmet-to-helmet and technically a penalty, it should be taken in the broader context of the situation and wasn't a grave mistake. Perhaps he can twist his shoulder a bit more, that's it.

Kraft overreacted to AB's benign and harmless texts under potentially some sponsor pressure. That pisses me off.

Evidently, to Biffins, Jackson looks like Jones.

I don't know what sort of test this is but, personally, I wouldn't end my sniffing with the back...

The Pats persevered and found a way to win. That is the bottom line of today. The offense has bailed the defense out many times in the past, today it was the other way around (not to mention a great special team play) A healthy O-line and a 100% Edeleman will go a long way to fixing the problems we saw today.

Flag happy officials are ruining the game though, and this challenging of No Pass Interference on a given play has just got to go (If the officials hadn't been so inept in last years NFC title game this rule would never have seen the light of day)

At least we didn't see any bildos on the field today, but unfortunately we had to listen to one in the broadcast booth all day. Dan Fouts is a blithering idiot.

4-0 at the quarter pole. and that's what counts.

Most of the folks that never sat on the metal bleachers don't understand the importance (and mental toughness it takes) walking away with W in a dogfight on the road in a hostile environment.

^ 3 posts up. That surprises me coming from a dog (avatar) :D
