Hope Hightower comes back soon, seems the Run D wasn’t as good this week. Couple of big runs by Gore pissed me off

Did you see that absurd catch White made on the wheel route, with the defender putting his hand in White's chest as he caught it? Without that they don't score any offensive touchdowns at all. I'm growing more skeptical of Sony Michel as featured running back by the week, but let's leave White out of this. He is absolutely a weapon that teams design defensive gameplans around.

White is a great pass catcher but an average runner. Shane Vereen used to do the same thing as can Burkhead. It was also a perfect pass. Michel will be better once Wynn returns.

can we actually also talk about how terrible the refs were?

They favored the Bills on basically every call.

At one point in the game I started just assuming the refs would throw the flag anytime Pats made a stop on 3rd or 4th.

Most frustrating thing for me was there looked to be an obvious hold on Gore's long run.

Although they do get a "hey you did your job" tip of the hat from me for calling the jills hold on Butler and for upholding the non-offensive pass interference on I think it was Lacrosse. If they would have called that I may have thrown my remote through the wall.

From the SB team they've lost T. Brown, Andrews, Gronk, D. Allen, Hogan and Patterson and replaced them with lesser LT and C plus 2 weaker TE's. The only upgrade was getting Gordon back. With a banged up Edelman and Harry & Watson out it is not surprising that they struggled against a top defense.

How often have the Pat's been 4-0 in September and not made a deep playoff run? I'm pretty sure we've made the SB every time.

The offense will find an identity by the end of October. It always does, we get our #1 pick back after week 8, and this D is playing historically good. I dont think we have anything to worry about. Especially with this weak schedule through the first half of the season. Almost every year one of the division teams always gives us trouble. We just have the D to back up Brady when he has the typical September off game. This team is deep and going far this season.
Not in 2015

OL isn’t likely to get much better. Wynn may or may not return. Andrews isn’t coming back. So the OL isn’t banged up as much as this is what they are this year

Or we can go with what is more likely given historical experience:

Wynn will be back after the BYE. Scar will coach them up, the run game blocking issues will get resolved and this will open up the offense to not look as impotent.

They aren’t OK. Name some worse tandems? They are average and play in a decent system with a great
QB. There aren’t any weapons that D coordinations have to scheme for such as Gronk. IMO the offense needs a lot of work.

Ok, Jr. Thanks for sharing your "wisdom".

Worse tandems?
- Sea
- Was
- San Fran
- TB
- Den
- Atl
- Cin

And that's just off the top of my head..SMH..

White is one of the premier pass catching RBs in the league. Only 3 guys ahead of him, imho. Kamara, McCaffrey, and Barkley.

Michel is a 2nd year back working behind a patchword O-line. When your O-line loses it's OC and OT within 2 weeks of one another, that is going to make things tough for any offense.

Measuring separation without any context is as pointless as 40yd dash times.

If we ever just use four verts for an entire game it might make a difference.

There were a few plays where they just ran it right up the gut and I thought “If high was playing that guy would have been dead in the hole.”

When was the last time the Pats D was anywhere near the top in sacks? Love this hope it keeps up

Quite frequently actually. 2015 and 2017 they were top 3 and top 5 respectively.

In terms of QB pressure they have been up there most of the past years.

Did Michael Bennett play much? I didn’t see him or hear his name.
Bennett played. Got some pressures on Allen and Barkley..
He's still not up to speed, imho.

He’s not GOOD anymore!! .... when will they ever learn? The New England offense plays these stinkers and everyone panics.

But, but if we had Antonio Brown. He ain’t coming back. And the offense will produce just fine.

I might have missed someone panicking, but there's no question that nothing like "everyone panics" is happening here.

Bentley over-ran the play or hit the wrong hole on one of Gore's long runs.. It shows he's still learning..

Offense was poorly constructed and I love Bb. How do we not have a decent tight end? Don't give me has Ben watson. We have the worst tight end group in the NFL. The two stiffs who played today are jags...who can't even block wtf. Don't like the fact that Dorsett starts. He's always been an inconsistent bust. Sure he has a big play every now and then, but overall? He stinks. Backup LT stinks too. Wynn doesn't come back until week 11?? Time to trade for beast Trent Williams. Also, call the Bungles and ask for AJ Green!!!

What I would love to know:

1. Sony Michel was in for how many plays that ended up passing plays versus run plays

2. How many passing targets did Sony get

I ask this because I feel he needs to catch a couple balls to keep the run defense honest

Implement those changes and we repeat. Resign AB as well. But Kraft is a spineless jellyfish!!

50 bucks when McDermotts all.world defense comes into Foxboro for a second matchup Brady lights them up. They don't have some magical formula that no one else has in terms of fooling Brady.

I'll go with 3 TD and 350 yards when they visit Gillette.

I hope so, but the history between Brady and McDermott doesn't contain much in the way of optimism.

Yeah Bentley had a tough game. At least two of the chunk plays (that run and then a pass on side of the field) were on him.
