Again, how much front page news regarding salacious accusations has Brown had since his Patriots release outside of grievance news? Compare the current AB news with Pitt and Oakland. Quiet as a baby at rest, at least as far as potential criminal or PITA behavior.

When he was with the Pats, daily accusations and innuendo. The white knights, instead of hearing accusations and saying let’s wait for evidence, accused and convicted him in their minds (yours as well apparently) and helped drive up a frenzy of emotion.

It worked. Problem is white knights are the equivalent of useful idiots. Only they do massive damage with no repercussions.

I don't give a tinker's damn about media coverage. Everyone already knows the sports media sucks, especially when it comes to covering the Patriots.

Literally all AB needed to do was stay off his phone/computer/social media. That's it. He couldn't even do that. From the team's perspective: would you really want to fork over millions of dollars to someone with such lousy impulse control? Of course not.

Finally, you can blame the "white knights" all you want. What you're saying, implicitly, is that BB caved to outside pressure and made this decision against essentially his will—which, of course, flies in the face of everything we know how about how Bill thinks and operates.

Why would Michel be featured as a receiver. Bulkhead does fine, and White when he is active.

it's not about what others are doing. It was talked about all offseason how dual threat Michel would give this offense a new dimension with his receiving skills not only because he catches passes but also because he is seen as a threat to catch passes

BB caved to Krafty.

So it's the media's fault that BB (allegedly) caved to Kraft?

Please don't tell me that you think the ridiculously over-the-top hostile coverage played no part in how things went down.

If Kraft pressuring BB was the reason for AB's release, then yes. But even if that's how it went down, that means the media is no higher than third in the hierarchy of blame, after AB and Kraft.

So we're clear, I'm not arguing that the coverage has been anything other than atrocious.

Fair enough, and I'm not sure we aren't mostly in agreement, but I'll toss out just a quick response/disagreement about the blame rankings.

First, I want to make it clear that I'm basing this only on the current state of the reporting, and later discoveries could change my takes. Now...

I put the media above Belichick on the blame scale. I could be wrong but, as has been pointed out multiple times, AB was practicing with the starters, and that was surely after BB already knew about the tweets, and after all the press nonsense to that point. Then, Mr. Happy Ending decided that "due process for me, but not for thee" was the way to go. There's not much BB can say at that point. So to me, that's an indication that it was Kraft's hypocrisy, and the media pressure, being above BB.

Also, this whole situation is another great example of why people should stay the hell off of Facebook/Instagram/Twitter/etc...

I was told numerous times by the experts in this board that Mason is one of the best on the league...has he really gotten worse?
He was somewhat better yesterday, but he's been pretty brutal all season so far.

I agree, in the above scenario the media goes above BB. I think, at some level, I'm hoping the Kraft angle is wrong because I'd like to think Bob has learned something by now. That said, I'm not optimistic that it is, and that's deeply unfortunate.

Great Calhoun now you have someone to play for now get with the actives and get some sacks.

Buffalo? It may as well be Ohio.

I got out a map and have decided that your right. You can draw a triangle. It goes from buffalo to cleaveland to Miami. It all makes sense now

He's often Jekyll and Hyde. He's a smart player who normally blocks well at the point of attack in the run game and in space, but he struggles in pass protection still, especially against really strong DLinemen. He is susceptible to bull rushes. I think I first noticed it very evidently SB51. Grady Jarrett terrorized him many times in the game, but especially the drive after the Hightower strip sack (if memory serves).

From what I have seen with Sony, they either run power with him or play actions where he stays in and blocks on running downs. The blocking has not been able to open holes for him to run, but they play actions have been effective. So if you take some of those play actions and have him not block and move to catch the ball you think it will open up his running game more?
