They are trying to make a big deal about BB's "death stare" to Dana Jacobson

LOL the media. BB stormed out!! BB gave someone the death stare!!!

Dear Media - BB is doing the same things he has done for the past 20 years. You did not need to go to any press conference. All the fans could have written the script for you:

Before AB's release:
Reporters: What do you have to say about the latest AB text messages? His antics? What if the NFL suspends him? Do you think the NFL shoulda, coulda, woulda suspend him?
BB: (answer to all questions). I'm here to talk about the Jets game.

After AB's release:
Reporters: Why did the Patriots cut AB? Is it true Bob Kraft overruled you? What do you think of AB's latest tweets? His antics? What if the NFL suspends him? Do you think the NFL shoulda, coulda, woulda suspend him?
BB: (answer to all questions). I'm here to talk about the players on our roster.

The joke of all of it is the media expecting BB to change his ways and do something different. We're onto the Bills media. Suck it.

I always love the media defense of “I HAVE to ask the question, it’s my job.” It’s nonsense. Anyone good at their job wouldn’t ask dead end questions to someone they know is going to give them a dead end answer. Especially when 5 other people already asked him the question and you heard the responses!

I’d rather ask him a question I know he’s going to answer than to ask a rhetorical question about Antonio Brown that you know for 100% fact is going to be a non-answer

They need to get better at their jobs and stop being parasites

Almost impossible to answer questions like this because once he does there will be multiple follow ups and that becomes all that is talked about. I absolutely hate it when the media tries to become the story.

One question I would love an answer to:
You took a delay of game before a punt then Bolden was called for an illegal motion which looked intentional. Were you doing that just to give Bailey a better angle or were you also doing it to kill close to an extra minute off the game clock?

she later recieved some “intimidating” text msg’s from BB

I don't know about you but when my Mom gave me the death stare, I stopped talking

The media know there is a 0.000000000% chance Bill will answer a question on this topic or any internal Pats issue.

So why do they do it?

They are content starved and consider a Curmudgeon Bill video clip to be certified gold.
The story is never what Bill says but how he doesn’t say it.

Never give in to these click bait creators disguised as journalists

Once again we are all getting all "passionate" about nothing.

First, it wasn't a "dumb question". Christ we just had a 400 page thread about that "dumb question. It was about all we talked about here for the last 14 days...and we are STILL talking about it, (though its kind of degenerated to a few guys just yelling at each other. ;) )

Lets not pretend that we ALL wanted an answer to a question that Bill had skillfully avoided since Friday. So to say it was a dumb question is to label yourself as.....I don't know.....DUMB.

Second you may want to question whether asking Bill the question at THAT time, was inappropriate. That is a reasonable thing to ask. I would say it had to be asked then, because we all know that when Bill is asked that question on Monday, we are going to get some version of "we are on to Buffalo" from him. So it was almost ask it then, or not at all to me.

As to the media "backlash" (if any). That's natural. You have your teammate's back, and there are many in the media who feel that way when you attack one of their own. You should expect some backlash. Most of us would react in the same way if one or our "teammates" was viewed as being "attacked" I don't take any offense at all.

Finally comes the question of whether Bill's "death stare" was even a rebuke to the reporter, or was it just Bill being Bill and none of the beat guys would have even noticed it if they had asked the same question and got the same reaction. I think it was much more the latter.

Bill, by choice, has always had an adversarial relationship with the media. When you think about it, it almost has to be to a degree. Its the reporters job to ask the questions that we would ask if we were there. It's Bill's job to answer them....... UP TO the point where he views the response COULD become a strategic disadvantage or distraction to his team.

So questions like "is he going to play?" or "how will you defend this great player?" are NOT going to be answered (as we have found out over 20 years ;) ). But because WE would like to know, they are questions a reporter is pretty much required to at least ask, even though they know the response they'll get.

Its like being a salesman and going to a customer you KNOW isn't going to buy. But its your job, so you HAVE to ask for the order, because once in a blue moon the guy just might say yes.

Sure there are a few guys/girls who thrive on "creating the narrative" usually "columnists and commentators" rather than reporters. But that's why the good lord gave us brains to weed out what these idiots say and ignore it.

So to recap. Nothing to see here. ;)

You however are obviously far more enlightened and inclusive.
Oh well, at least your side had a substantial run with The Inquisition and the Crusades so at least you have that going for you
That escalated quickly. Anyone impaled by a trident during all this?

Regards,
Chris

To provide some context, she said, "I'd be remiss if I didn't ask, what was the final straw with Antonio Brown?" He deflected it and said "We're just focused on the Jets." She was smart and didn't press him, immediately saying, "Thank you coach" to end the interview and that was when that pretty intense stare down by him took place. Even I was a little uncomfortable because it was literally 3 seconds of him just staring at her, which felt like an eternity.

I’m shocked no one gave Belichick a stroke test in those 3 secs.

Everyone knows Bill is a prick.

Definitely don't give him special treatment for it though. Ask him the same questions you'd ask anyone else.

If the public gets pissed at his reactions, so be it.

Just keep asking the questions. Do your job.

Same here, and my Mom has always been a gentle soul. Moral of the story, never mess with your Mom.

Maybe he was flirting with her ?

All joking aside, I kinda liked the death stare. It said to me, I'm all about business, deadly serious.

Using common sense and good judgment in your questioning is also part of the job of the media. Did that happen here? I don't think it did. "He was practicing with the starters. Will you have to make changes to your game plan?" is a reasonable, though vapid, question. "What was the final straw?" takes you off the field, needlessly, is inappropriate for the circumstances and, particularly given the interview subject, is designed for reaction rather than information.

Good for Dana Jacobson. These weak reporters complaining are essentially saying women can’t stand up for themselves. They’re the sexist ones.
