Meyers & Harry

Defensively, it looks affirmative. But I don't think you can make this claim yet offensively. I think people tend to forget how great that 2015 team was because of the dismal end to the regular season. They were 10-0 and they were making it look easy, especially offensively.

You could be right in time, Nik... I just think any real assessment is premature at the moment.
agreed. We averaged 32 over the first 10 games in 2015.

I think Meyers will be really solid this year - 5-6 targets a game or so. Harry, less optimistic for this season...I imagine he can contribute on a handfuls if snaps per game but don’t think he has the required chemistry with Brady to be a regular receiver in 2019.

Based on what?

I actually think Meyers will be the better of the two. He’s not extremely fast but he consistently gets opens and has good hands and really fights for the ball.

Greetings all

So AB is gone and now the WR corps is back to what it was about a month ago. My question is, how good are Jakobi Meyers & N'Keal Harry and what can we expect out of them this year? Both rookies and both very young so they have a lot of room to grow, and Harry won't appear until about halfway through the season, just wondering how good these guys can be and how many targets and catches do you think they'll get?
well the good news we could roll just about anyone out there and still be 8 and 0 after 8 weeks

This team is better than the 2015 team, at least potentially, and the only thing that stopped that team was injuries. If people stay upright and playing, then this team can do serious damage, and yes, our WR corps is still one of the league's top units.

EDIT - More to the point of the OP, it depends on a few things, but both Meyers and Harry are physically built to be bruisers and tough playmakers in the playoffs. They'll likely be coming into stride around that time...maybe a bit like MM. That's my expectation anyway; low to moderate targets during the regular season and more opportunities in the playoffs.

+ Gronk

If our top three receivers are healthy, I don't see much of a role for the #4 (backup), and certainly not a #5.

Even when we want to run sets with 4 receivers, I suspect that we often use White or Burkhead or Watson as the #4.

Nothing reported that they connected in the preseason much. Not saying they won’t get it...just that with all the other options it’s probably going to be next season when it catches on more.

Agree, and we also get Watson back after 2 weeks ! The team is loaded, nice problem to have !

Is this auto-correct? Or a nickname?

I want to see White get more targets, he is dynamic in space and a mismatch for LBs. I want him to make a serious run at Marshall Faulk's record of 36 receiving TDs for a running back.

Havent been to any of the practices so I am just basing this on some beat guy comments and what we were able to see in the few snaps he played but to me it looked encouraging. He pretty much caught most of the stuff Brady threw at him.

Which is exactly what would be great to have on the inside.

But then again it is all just speculation and projection.

Would anyone be against dealing Harry and a 1st rounder to the Skins in exchange for them retaining some salary on Trent Williams? It would be alot to give up. I know. But there are rewards too...

Yes. Harry and a first would the height of stupidity. I wouldn’t trade Harry for Williams straight up. 21 year-old Harry will be back week 8 or 9 and will use his 6’3” 225 lb frame to beast mode other team’s CB2/3. 3rd down and red zone monster. Wynn will be back just in time for the week 11-14 gauntlet and will be their left tackle for years to come.

It’s a shame that he tried to get those few extra yards when he clearly was down already. I believe that the second tackle led to his IR stint.

Let's just say that we need the troika of Edelman/Gordon/Dorsett to stay healthy, and non-suspended, all season.

Likely not happening, probably at least one of them will miss some time along the way. I'm most intrigued by Harry's potential and am hoping he has time to get FULLY healed before needed.
