Tom: Let The Players Play

This is a general attitude problem in our society today. Appeal to authority and immediately escalate the situation. Why not just directly, but politely, confront the offender and ask him to acknowledge he is still no acting others and do something about it? At least make an attempt to resolve the situation directly.

Oh jeez. Thanks moral police. Did you even read the thread? My point is why complain like this and make it so big and announce it to everyone in a tweet for the world to see. Better to keep it private - either tell the person directly or the league for that matter. So not sure how your point is different from mine. I don’t think it was a good idea for TB to tweet to the world about the refs - let them know directly or tell the league.

Finally made it, Ma...TOP OF THE WORLD!

Brady usually the soft spoken man who changes into his "Superman" suit every Sunday is concerned about the number of penalties being called in this season's games.. so much so he turned off TNF..

15 penalties in the first half and 20 overall in last nights game..

in the first two weeks of this NFL season 178 flags for offensive holding, a 66% increase from the same time period last season.

Overall a 16.2% increase in total penalties in the first two weeks of this NFL season.

Absolutely. Tom Brady should have a discussion with the league about its interpretation and application of the rules. That's worked out well in the past.

Tom's right - that game was brutal. I don't blame him for shutting it off in frustration.

I watched until the bitter end however, as Derrick Henry is on my fantasy team (thank goodness for garbage time TD!) and I was intrigued by the Jags' new mustachioed QB. He looked pretty good for one outing (several burns of former Patriots DBs) and I guess me putting the Jags on my "they're done" list was premature...

Holy crap - - I was just kidding - - is THIS what got him released????????

Refs have it harder now than ever before with the league having them focus on so many things. Between replay and the additional calls you now have to wait a few extra seconds after the play ends to determine if you are happy or not.

Had turned to Redzone and saw Diggs score a TD for Minnesota (helped my fantasy team) then flipped back to the game I was watching. Score update 15 minutes later showed Minnesota with 4 less points and I later found out that the score was overturned on a challenged OPI away from the ball. I was optimistic in the pre-season that the Pass Interference replays would only overturn egregious misses but as we saw with the Gordon pick in the Miami game they are willing to reverse calls more on "letter of the law" than blatant missed calls. (I actually thought Gordon did interfere but I'd prefer that sort of thing either gets called on the field or is let go)

Stay classy. Farts, ivory tower, nose....great response to a legit comment. You are the cesspool of social media.

Anyways - don’t think it suits Tom to tweet about refs and flags. He’s still a player in the league and he has always been neutral about these types of things. I still feel it wasn’t him and someone else using his account or something.

One other opinion I heard was that Tom was trying to take some heat off of Antonio Brown. If Tom's comments weren't right on the money I might have agreed.

It's very frustrating to watch an NYFL game and have so many great plays called back on what are far too often ticky-tack calls. I felt the same way as Tom and took his advice and went to bed at halftime.

Well, the Tweets worked out. The league held a meeting about the holding calls, on Saturday, and the average number of calls per game dropped by about 50%.
