OT-ish: The gambling thread

I started to bet Ten and the line moved to 3 and I saw 65% of the public was on the Titans so I layed off...thankfully.

Imagine if you took the Houston cougars and the points last night. This is exactly why I hate taking numbers between 3 and 7 sometimes... more so in the nfl

Yup I really started playing more numbers than teams toward the end of last year. I think Green Bay would be pretty good value if you can get them at 6.5 with too much juice.

Absolutely hilarious to see someone else use that word! I have a friend I refer to as a jonah because he sucks at betting and never wins!

We all have a that guy, the one who when you find out they are on the same side of a bet as you are makes you doubt your initial logic in placing it and question whether you should make an immediate offset bet.

Yep, it’s great for getting your money quickly and easily. They send you a card that you can use at the ATM machine. There are some fees involved (I think 4 bucks per transaction), but it’s a lot better than what we had before, waiting up to 6 weeks for a check to arrive in the mail.

Potential Reverse line movement on the FIU LA tech game tonight. 58% of the money on LA Tech, line started La Tech -10 and is now -7. Will be watching that did really well on college following RLM a few years ago.

- I'm liking the Pats to cover 6 ½ at Buffalo
- Seattle -3 at Arizona
- Dallas -2 ½ at New Orleans w/Teddy Bridgewater
- Vikings +3 at Chicago may be worth watching

Reverse line movement.

The idea is to try and see what the sharps are betting if the majority of the money is on a team, even though the overall number of tickets (public betting) are going the other way.

Honestly - I'm not even a gambler. I never bet $ I can't afford to lose. In truth - I'm a pu ssy.

I'm ridiculous frugal, have no debt and limited obligations (my kids are both adults)

I pay $1k a month rent here in Austin and honestly if any 44 year old man can't afford a $300 bet (Plus a freebie $150 for signing up) that man is a loser. I barely make the 'not a loser' cut, fyi.
