SPN Boston reports Antonio Brown is unlikely to get any of his $9 million signing bonus from the Patriots.
The Patriots plan to use the "representation warranty clause" to void Brown's signing bonus. Brown didn't disclose he was dealing with an off-field situation before signing with New England, which they view as a breach of contract. The NFLPA could file a grievance, but it sounds like Brown may only end up with his $1 million salary, two game checks ($125K), and a $33,333 roster bonus. Since Brown was released after June 1, any money the Patriots owe can be spread out over the next two years.

The $125 k is part of the $1 m salary btw. The same warranty clause will also void the guarantees in the salary as well I’m thinking. He’ll get only the $125k and $33.3k. He can file a grievance, but I can’t imagine an arbitrator ruling that failing to disclose a legal action citing sexual assault not being a material misrepresentation. Frankly, Brown and Rosenhaus have a better chance filing a grievance against the Raiders for voiding those guarantees.

The question is whether the credit will hit the cap in 2019 or 2020. If it’s 2020, they’ll probably still have to do simple restructures of Hightower and Mason to move the $5 million back to the 2019 cap.

We're still in the funeral stage of grief ...

Not me. I'm in the homemade spaghetti with meat sauce and Caesar salad stage of not giving too much of a damn :D

As fun as it would have been to witness, my gut said it wouldn't work out, so I never got attached to the TB to AB dream.

So disappointed. i wish Bill set down with him and give him one last chance, i'm going to be pissed if he signs with the Chiefs or Eagles.

Gawd lets hope the NEP win the grievance
I don't have any firsthand knowledge of the contract, but there's certainly been a lot in the media to give me the impression they will win it. I'm sure they were smart enough to include a few out-clauses in there... not to mention that it can easily be argued AB left out material facts when the whole thing was negotiated.... that nondisclosure by itself could nullify the whole thing

There is nothing “intimidating” or “threatening” with these texts.

Unbelievable.

Agreed, but it was the fact that this was textbook harrassment which is enough to warrant a suspension by the league.

"wax frog"

Many of us here are plenty old enough to be his dad ...
I'm sure many here would have loved the chance to sit down and have a chat with him.
nothing to lose considering ... but that brain is concrete entitlement.

AB never won a Super Bowl. NEP won 6. F it.

Call Gronk if things go to ****

EDIT: Honestly, not kidding, I think the Steeler should sign him back

Next, a woman will come out and say AB didn’t call her after spending the night with him.

Don’t like antonio’s clown show but i hope he beats his charges. It’s all bs in my opinion but whateva. The guy will get another chance because you have guys like hill still playing.

I am more worried now about losing a guy like Gordon in the long run and no salary cap space for this year.

Watch...the accusers, and reporters will remain silent now that he’s no longer a patriot. There goal was achieved

They achieved what they achieved and brown’s an idiot for letting them win.
