Yeah. And. So. What?

He still violated the clause. End of story.
Nah he didn’t. The texting doesnt meet the standard of conduct detrimental.

Predictable column by Breer. Wondering — does anyone have a link to the similar column he wrote when the Raiders cut Brown?

I hate Breer. Hes such a dweeb

happens all the time actually. Texts are frequently used in court for things like restraining orders, etc
No. Texts used in court cases happen. Texts being the basis of a charge of menacing doesn’t.

Breer is such a DB. Where’s the outrage over Tyreek Hill? Where’s his mindless dribble spouting on about the damage Tyreek did to the Chiefs legacy?

Again, how can you possibly know a lawsuit will go away when you aren't privy to any aspect of it? Keep in mind the standard of proof is a LOT lower than it is in a criminal case.

Because putting Brown on the exempt list would be setting a precedent. Just because a civil lawsuit isn’t going away, doesn’t mean that player will be suspended.

this is one of those posts where we need a "?" clicky thing ... or a WTF one

I wonder how this affects our Vegas SB odds. This afternoon I saw Pats at 5:2 to win it all.

let the Steelers snag him

Chiefs don't have a legacy

Anybody who thinks AB is coming back to an NFL team soon does not understand what has happened. I think the Pats cut him because he is a terrible and dumb human being and he proved that without a doubt with those messages. It does not matter weather he was saying it to the woman or not, those were words of a really bad and terrible human. Not saying all the Patriots players are good people but we don't have both terrible and dumb ones.
His path to the NFL will have to entail some of sort of genuine public contrition and acknowledging that he has treated people pretty ****ty. I say this assuming he wants to continue to play football. At this point, he needs the game, his lifestyle is so flamboyant that without the game, he will soon be broke and he may in turn get someone to post pictures of this kids laughing at how poor they look.

Possibly, but what I was responding to, and what you seemed to be in agreement with was:

If AB kept his mouth shut, he wins, the civil case is BS at best.

fact is, all Brown had to do was keep quiet and the Pats/NFL would continue to let him play. Instead a week into his tenure he starts texting someone who accused him in an article. How was brown going to make it to December/January without some other distraction?

he already disobeyed Bill B.

Even if he isn't, the WR corps is better than what the Pats went into the playoffs with last year. I'll take Jakobi Meyers over the 2018 Chris Hogan any day of the week. TE is definitely weaker. The OL has problems.

The D is scary good.........at this moment, after the AB release, I wouldn't trade places with nay other NFL team whatsoever.

.

Your probably right, but Jakobi Meyers is not someone I can get excited about today....

I choose to look at Dorset. I like what I have seen out of him this year.

Well Gordon it’s your time to shine. We need this guy to be a playmaker. He’s capable of doing it but he can be inconsistent and look sluggish out there. No tight end production.

I just want to outlive the Brady Belichick era. That is my only request at this point. My best friend and neighbor, who was the biggest Pats fan ever dropped at 62 soon after SB 51 and some times I find it sad to think he missed the remainder of this era, which has been two more SB appearances, 1 more win and counting.

Shocking to think how long it has lasted.

The next eras is just entertainment and gravy to me

EDIT: I will make it of course

EXACTLY!!! People in this goddamn thread are acting like the Patriots gained something by subtraction here, and we are absolutely worse for this move.

Every single fan forum of teams in the AFC are breathing a collective sigh of relief right now, knowing that they actually have a chance to beat us without that guy. Just checked the stage 4 terminal cancer known as Chiefs Planet and they are climaxing right now. I cannot believe the Pats just gave what everyone wanted. We damned sure didn't cut Brady for Deflategate or fire Bill for Spygate, and this has just about the same amount of evidence as those did-- NOT A SHRED.

No conviction. No ruling. No exemption list. But we jut let go of a generational player because of a text message. This isn't Ray Rice. We don't have evidence for what's being claimed. But because he sent a text message we release him? I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing what's going on here.

100%! Mic Drop!... or the Pats knows what's comin'!

I always said from the begining... this was "sting" operation! And the Pats where railroad! Period!

No Gronk, No AB, No DT... N'Keal Harry...

No TE's! OL...?

Amendola » or = AB? Don't make laugh!

TB12 must be a saint, to take with all this sh** & keep on WINNING!

Man, what about those Dolphins huh

We had to sign AB just to beat them

That is very fair and ultimately my stupidity because I don’t believe the civil case is “BS.” I was more responding to the first part.

Meyers' ceiling is higher, but 2018 Hogan was a reliable vet with big game experience and had built up tons of trust/familiarity with Brady.
