I would rather get Williams. Bigger need

Brown was a bigger get than Williams would have been, by a country mile. But, it doesn't matter now.

They've won SB's with less. Maybe you should have someone tell you about it.

The real problem is the OL. But you Fantasy League kids wouldn't understand.

They’ve lost (or not gone to) Super Bowls with more

From an on-field standpoint, the loss of Brown is a big blow to the Pats ability to get to the Super Bowl. It doesn’t mean they can’t still get there, or even that they’re not the favorites. But acting as if the team’s chances aren’t a good bit worse today than yesterday is ridiculous

Tom, meet Jacoby Myers... say hello Jacoby

Why aren't we liable for all of AB's signing bonus when we release him?

Pats will go to Super Bowl easy

At least now we can get back to how we honestly felt about him

Too bad multiple positive ratings can't be clicked.

This is the best post in the thread.

So what about our cap space going forward? Any chance at going for an OT?
Evidently we don’t get that cap space back until next year, if at all.

Comments:

a.) At the end of the day, it was a good move to sign Brown. We took a free agent out of the pool and now returned him to the pool sullied. Anyone who picks him now will face intense media scrutiny and for that reason I don't expect AB to sign anywhere at least until his civil suit is resolved.

b.) I liked seeing Brown play in Miami...great football IQ...evident on the field.

c.) If a guy can't just STFU and play....it was never going to work out here no matter what. BB benched Welker for making foot related jokes.

The big "we owe you nothing if you do anything to make us look bad" clause in his contract.

Who says his Pats career is over?
Possibly.

Wouldn’t shock me at all to see him back in the future, if and only if, all these things remain untrue and fall by the wayside.

He’s currently radioactive and his own worst enemy.

Crazy part is, if these accusations never came out, I genuinely believe he makes it the full season.

Good for Meyers and perhaps Gunner
I love both of these players but we are talking apples and oranges here when you’re talking about Brown and these guys… Dorsett and Myers are going to have to really step up now and make some big time plays for this offense

We've also won with Gronk but people don't seem to remember that.

All depends on the contractual language. There are no guarantees until they have been paid out and the Pats haven't paid out any of his bonus yet.

I really don’t think sending a text message that gets complained about is a branding issue. Besides it doesn’t unhappiness when you release him.
If you are saying they gauged his attitude as believing the problems would continue I’m with you there.
I definitely think they came to a conclusion that he was not trustworthy moving forward. But I also think it is a brand issue. In the legal world it means nothing. When you care what people think about your team and fear fallout from him humiliating and possible threat to a woman while under your watch. Then I would think Kraft would want him gone. Or the Monday bonus theme might have been the main issue. If they have not paid him yet then this is their out. Who knows

They're better. He representing oxygen being taken away from Edelman/Gordon/Dorsett/Meyers and eventually Harry.

The issue with the Pats isn't the WR corps. Its the OL and the TEs.

Eevn with that, a W is a W and even a 13-3 W is a W.

This D is historically great.
