I think the NFL and Patriots were talking today. I think the league let the Patriots know they are putting him on the exempt list which would mean he gets paid by the Patriots while having to sit. The Patriots took the heads up and said bye bye Punk. I would not worry who gets him at this time I think he is going to have to sit. I think he needs that personally. He is unraveled
You may be on to something.

So Dorsett has now, once again, gone from being a deadly bonus as a #4 WR to an important and needed #3WR. On its own, that's not a problem. The problem comes in with the following:

Harry - on IR, and hasn't proven a damned thing yet
Meredith - still unavailable, and hasn't had the work with Brady
Meyers - huge question mark.

So..... Anyone know how we can get DeAndre Hopkins really pissed off at the Texans?

Gotta pull the Jakobi bandwagon out of long-term storage

If you don't think there was a media agenda, explain to me why that douchebag Peter King is congratulating Klemko minutes after the Pats cut Brown.

Um...because he thinks he did a good job of reporting?

Steelers looking more idiotic they could’ve fleeced the Pats but only traded him for a 3rd and 5th. Lol.

So how do we get our money back?
They haven't paid him the money. The signing bonus wasn't due until Monday.

Well if he gets a 6 game suspension ... like Zeke ... it will take some sting off the release.

My instinct is they met with him after practice to discuss his behavior and the leagues response and he pulled something along the lines of (consistent with how he has handled everything else) “ain’t no one telling me what the f I can do, you can’t stop me from texting, I don’t need this crap.”
Then he was gone

BTW, the Patriots refusing to pay the signing bonus would be a bit of comedic karma.

No suspension not on the exempt list let's just release a top 3 Wr we pretty much stole while the media feeling like they accomplished something, if he would of went to any other team I doubt the drama would of as overblown due to he him being a Patriot we played right into the enemy's hand, if we don't win the SB the blame will be solely on this move and looking at a why BB bench butler pt 2 with why BB released AB especially if he winds up on a team the wins a SB or beats us in route.

EXACTLY!!! People in this goddamn thread are acting like the Patriots gained something by subtraction here, and we are absolutely worse for this move.

Every single fan forum of teams in the AFC are breathing a collective sigh of relief right now, knowing that they actually have a chance to beat us without that guy. Just checked the stage 4 terminal cancer known as Chiefs Planet and they are climaxing right now. I cannot believe the Pats just gave what everyone wanted. We damned sure didn't cut Brady for Deflategate or fire Bill for Spygate, and this has just about the same amount of evidence as those did-- NOT A SHRED.

No conviction. No ruling. No exemption list. But we jut let go of a generational player because of a text message. This isn't Ray Rice. We don't have evidence for what's being claimed. But because he sent a text message we release him? I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing what's going on here.

Say what you will, but the offense is still strong. Undoubtedly Gordon with AB was insane, but Gordon, Edelman with Dorsett and Myers I can get behind, especially considering Dorsett has looked fantastic. I'm looking forward to the Gordon mental health rejuvenation and potential.

This team can and should still win the super bowl. The bright side people, we can enjoy the season now instead of the media headache.

They have better chemistry without AB taking the oxygen away from the others. WR corps is solid. RB corps is excellent. The focus needs to be on the OL and TEs.

The D is historically good.

I’m guessing not because AB doesn’t seem pissed off...but who knows with this guy. Maybe Rosenhaus took over his accounts lol.

Brown still gonna get that ring :)

We don't know what the final trigger was, yet, Birdman.

You still don't get it. Still think the texts were "innocuous"? C'mon, bro. The league had to put a restraining order on the guy. That alone was plenty for the Pats to kick him to the curb. You're smearing our organization by insinuating they're okay with what he did Wednesday night. They ain't.
